As a long-time follower of reality TV shows and a former military serviceman myself, I must admit that this latest news about Alex Henry from Married at First Sight UK has piqued my interest in a rather unique way.
Before the new season of Married at First Sight kicks off on Channel 4 tonight, news broke out about one of this year’s participants, Alex Henry, who served in the RAF and was imprisoned due to his decision to participate in the TV show instead of fulfilling his military duties.
Last winter, it was initially reported by The Sun that Henry, a specialist in air operations stationed at RAF Spadeadam, made a request for additional time off to participate in a TV show. However, when this request was turned down, he is said to have departed from his post to take part in the filming of the series instead.
According to the report, upon his return from filming, Henry was apprehended by military authorities and subsequently given a 34-day sentence in a military detention center. After serving 24 days, it’s said that he was dismissed from his position.
A representative for Henry stated to the press: “Henry willingly came back following the completion of his filming, surrendering himself to the military officials. As an exemplary prisoner, he was given a sentence of 34 days in a military jail and served 24 days.
“Charlene mentioned that the pairs from this year are full of excitement, love, and turmoil. She also hinted at numerous intimate scenes ahead.
In the meantime, Paul expressed, “It’s the authentic yearning and longing for love that really captivates me. I believe this is something the viewers can relate to and cherish.
Charlene added, “Certainly, there are some astonishing and intriguing instances within it. This year, the pairs embark on quite an adventure, and many of our pairs experience some truly unexpected moments.
The ninth season of Married at First Sight UK is set to premiere on Channel 4 starting from Monday, September 16th, airing at 9 PM.
