Patrick Mahomes’ dad isn’t holding back.
Caught up in the chatter about Pat Mahomes I, the NFL sensation who, like my heart, was once shared with ex Randi Martin, there’s been a buzz regarding an incident he allegedly had with John Rocker during the Super Bowl LIX festivities in New Orleans. Now, this former Atlanta Braves player has stirred the pot even more by posting a cryptic message on his social media platform.
On February 11th, Pat (formerly a pitcher for teams like the Minnesota Twins, Chicago Cubs, New York Mets, among others during his nine-year career in Major League Baseball) expressed in a post that John Rocker poses a threat to public safety.
Meanwhile, Rocker seemingly threatened Mahomes in his own subsequent X post.
Rocker remarked shortly after Mahomes’ post, ‘Mahomes was fortunate to escape.’ I would have given him a piece of my mind instead.
Later, Rocker added Feb. 12, “Well that was an interesting night.”
However, though a video of two ex-MLB players having a spat on Bourbon Street in New Orleans gained popularity, some spectators are pondering if the scuffle and subsequent online posts were orchestrated to generate buzz for an impending fight between the sportsmen. This theory was reinforced by Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy, who hinted at this upcoming event in one of his social media updates.
In a video posted on February 12, Dave mentioned, “I’m not sure if you caught the small altercation on Bourbon Street.” “Apparently, John Rocker and Pat Mahomes Sr. were arguing fiercely – it seemed like they were about to fight. It appears that their animosity dates back to their playing days in baseball.
Dave went on, declaring that some ex-baseball players will engage in a battle at Barstool’s Tough and Turmoil contest on the 19th of April.
“They signed the f–king paper work,” Dave explained. “This is real bad blood.”
As a committed admirer, I too shared the media figure’s gracious offer to Mahomes’ young son – who playfully took a gentle swipe at Barstool during a pre-Super Bowl press gathering – to witness the upcoming bout.
