Major AEW Star Reportedly a Free Agent, WWE Debut Expected Soon

Over the past year, it seems like WWE has been attracting some major talents to their roster, but it looks like they’ve just landed another game-changer – none other than the ex-AEW Women’s World Champion, Mariah May! While there were whispers about her potential departure from AEW, those rumors have come true now, as she no longer appears on their official roster (as reported by PW Insider). This usually indicates that a talent has become a free agent, and the word on the street is that Mariah May is set to make her WWE debut shortly! With this addition, they’re only beefing up an already impressive women’s division. I can hardly wait to see what she brings to the table!

As a die-hard fan, I’ve always kept my eyes peeled for any WWE news, and the buzz was that they were gearing up to extend a substantial offer to May once she hit free agency. Looking back, it appears those rumors had some truth to them. However, it remains a mystery which WWE brand will be lucky enough to have May on their roster when the official signing takes place. History has shown us that stars can make their debut on Raw, NXT, or SmackDown, so we’ll just have to wait and see where May lands!

If May were to join NXT, it would significantly enhance their women’s division, as several prominent figures have recently been promoted to the main roster. Roxanne Perez and Giulia made their appearances on Monday Night Raw, but Giulia quickly transitioned to SmackDown, depriving NXT of two former champions. With more departures imminent, the addition of someone with May’s skillset would undoubtedly be beneficial for them in the near future.

In a similar fashion, it’s quite possible that May could be swiftly introduced to the main roster, much like Jade Cargill was when she transitioned from AEW. Before her official debut and joining the SmackDown roster, Cargill was hinted at on Raw, SmackDown, and NXT. Once she made her appearance, she formed a formidable tag team with Bianca Belair, eventually earning Championship Gold together.

It’s still uncertain what her next move will be, but there are several top-tier talents who could make for compelling initial rivalries. If she joins NXT, prospects like Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker, Zaria, and Thea Hail would be excellent matches. Should she migrate to Raw, stars such as Liv Morgan, Rhea Ripley, Roxanne Perez, Becky Lynch, and Lyra Valkyria could all provide fierce competition. Similarly, if she lands on SmackDown, contenders like Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, Naomi, Tiffany Stratton, Charlotte Flair, and Giulia would make for captivating rivalries as well.
