Discussions regarding a possible third Mamma Mia film have been ongoing since the sequel titled “Here We Go Again” hit screens in 2018. Now, actress Christine Baranski, who played the role of Tanya, has shared some new information on the subject.
She mentioned: “There haven’t been any updates yet, but the last thing I shared previously became quite popular, and it was just speculation. However, I’m personally acquainted with Judy Craymer, the producer and creator of Mamma Mia!, and she is eager to move forward with plan number 3.
While there’s a strong desire among us for a Mamma Mia! 3, it doesn’t necessarily mean that production has been given the go-ahead. Frankly, I hesitate to confirm it, but there’s definitely enthusiasm for such a movie.

In an interview with Deadline in May 2023, the creative mind behind the original stage musical and the producer of both movies hinted at the possibility of a third installment. He mentioned that plans for a third film are just starting to take shape.
Speaking as a passionate film enthusiast, I firmly believe that tale lies within those reels, and I’m convinced Meryl Streep would consider returning to it. If the script is compelling enough, I’m sure her fondness for portraying Donna would draw her back.
At present, Baranski stars as Victoria in the second installment of Nine Perfect Strangers, where Nicole Kidman portrays Masha, who is greeting a fresh batch of visitors at her health and wellness sanctuary.
Speaking about the upcoming season, actress Annie Murphy (portraying Victoria’s daughter Imogen) noted that while it is filled with turmoil, there’s also a healthy dose of humor and enjoyment throughout, offering viewers an exciting blend of drama and amusement.
