Maren Morris Balances Mom Life & Touring: ‘Two Days in One’

Maren Morris is usually busy chasing after Hayes.

Instead of saying “After all, the ‘Bones’ singer gave a glimpse into her busy life as mom to her and ex-husband Ryan Hurd’s son while juggling her duties as a touring artist,” you could say “The ‘Bones’ singer shared insights about her multifaceted role as a mom and a touring artist, which includes taking care of her son with her ex-husband, Ryan.

As a mom to my energetic five-year-old, my mornings are all about being in ‘mom mode.’ Once he’s tucked away for the night around 7:30 pm, however, there’s still the task of hosting my show ahead. Maren, proud ambassador for Reign Storm, shared this insight during an exclusive behind-the-scenes conversation with TopMob News.

In my everyday life at home, I synchronize my bedtime with my son’s. However, when I’m on tour, it feels as if two days have compressed into one. By the end of this condensed “day two,” it’s performance time.

It’s not unexpected that the Grammy winner has become the newest ambassador for Reign Storm energy drink. She shared that she doesn’t get “nervous shakes during performances,” and furthermore, she feels “well-hydrated” and confident to “perform and maintain energy levels for 90 minutes.

Juggling motherhood along with tours can demand a considerable amount of patience and vigor, but for Maren, having Hayes with her is something she cherishes deeply. In truth, she embarked on a cross-country trip with him when he was only 2 years old.

She shared with TopMob News in June 2022 that he considers the tour bus to be like camp, as he seems clueless about what’s happening, but he gets really enthusiastic about it. This will be her first tour with an infant or child, and she’s thrilled. She believes this experience will positively alter her approach to things.

In February 2020, she welcomed him, and later confessed that motherhood had significantly shifted her outlook on her professional life. Nevertheless, this experience ultimately fostered her growth as both a parent and an artist.

She shared, “As a mother, I found a fresh sense of purpose, but as an artist who’s spent more than half my life touring, I often felt lost in many aspects. This experience helped me reevaluate my priorities, understanding that while I cherish my work, I no longer seek love through it. Instead, I do it because I genuinely enjoy it, and accepting this was a positive realization.

In time, Maren got the hang of things and skillfully managed the balance between her personal life at home and her professional duties, an accomplishment she regarded as particularly noteworthy.

She conveyed to TopMob in December 2022 that her greatest accomplishment was balancing her roles as a mother and an artist while traveling. This meant she didn’t have to separate her duties or choose one over the other, which she described as a deeply satisfying personal and professional peak.
