In the process of setting up LuckyChap’s fresh office in Los Angeles, Margot Robbie repurposed a handful of office chairs from the set of her hit film for her assistants to work at.

In an episode of Architectural Digest’s Open Door series on May 27th, the three-time Oscar nominee mentioned that the very same chairs seen in the Barbie movie are located within the Mattel CEO office. These chairs, upholstered in pink, were used by all the Mattel employees when they sat together. Upon realizing that these chairs would be discarded at the end of the film due to their high cost, she had them refurbished instead.

In a turn of events, Scarlett Hessian, Margot’s designer, refurbished the $3,195 Saarinen armchairs that were previously seen upholstered in blush pink fabric and used by Will Ferrell and his Mattel executive co-stars in the movie. Now, these chairs boast a stylish orange-and-white checkered fabric.

Regarding the remaining sources of inspiration for the LuckyChap offices, which Margot Robbie shares with her husband Tom Ackerley and their business partner Josey McNamara, the designer pointed out that they aimed for a design that was understated rather than ostentatious.
