The prospect of Angelina Jolie taking on the iconic role of Maria Callas, under the visionary direction of Pablo Larraín, is truly tantalizing. With her captivating performances in Spencer and Jackie, it’s safe to say that this trilogy has me intrigued, to put it mildly.
The latest trailer features Angelina Jolie as the lead character, Maria Callas, directed by Pablo Larraín, renowned for his ‘heels trilogy’ following films like Spencer and Jackie. In this movie, Angelina is playing the title role.
Maria will narrate the stormy, enchanting, and sorrowful account of the life of the most renowned female opera singer worldwide, reminisced and reinvented amidst her last moments in 1970s Paris.
In various film festivals, the movie features Pierfrancesco Favino, Alba Rohrwacher, Haluk Bilginer, and Kodi Smit-McPhee. Critics are suggesting that Angelina Jolie could be a strong contender for the Best Actress Oscar, which would complement her Best Supporting Actress Oscar from ‘Girl, Interrupted’ in 1999.
