Ever since Nintendo’s Switch 2 Direct reveal, I’ve been keeping a close eye on their official site. Although it’s not fully global yet, they’ve dished out some info regarding the pricing of the upcoming games for the new console. Gives us a sneak peek into how much we might be shelling out for our favorite titles!
On social media platform X, user Elesnicho has pointed out the upcoming title for the Switch 2, named Mario Kart World, is set at €89.99 for the physical version. The digital version will cost €79.99. This price increase represents a significant jump from Nintendo’s usual pricing range of between €60 and €70 for their games.
On the Spanish Nintendo Switch 2 site, it’s clear that Donkey Kong Bananza is priced similarly to some of the console’s later games. The digital version of Donkey Kong Bananza costs €69.99, while a physical copy is sold for €79.99.
It seems Nintendo may adjust the prices of each game individually, providing them with more adaptability. This strategy enables Nintendo to produce and release smaller-scale games without being tied to the high €79.99 price typically associated with major releases.
It’s worth noting that the physical and digital editions of these two games differ by €10 in cost. It’s possible that this pricing disparity could continue with future games for the Switch 2 too.
