The producer shared with Rolling Stone, “Many players are thrilled about the new high-difficulty modes. But when asked if we’ll introduce engines larger than 150cc in Mario Kart World, I must admit I’m unable to give a definitive answer at this moment.

Yabuki seems to be keeping his options open regarding the possibility of introducing a 200cc mode in the future, but he might steer clear of discussing it if there are no plans. Precedent suggests that this could indeed be the plan, as this is exactly what they did with Mario Kart 8, where the feature was eventually added.

Regarding any news about the initial update for Mario Kart World on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, there’s been no announcement as of yet.
