Mariska Hargitay is calling in her special unit.
At the premier of “My Mom Jayne” during the Tribeca Festival on June 13th, the lead actress from “Law & Order: SVU” attended with her husband Peter Hermann and their three children – August (aged 18), Amaya (14) and Andrew (13).
Exiting Carnegie Hall in New York City, a stylish family of five emerged, with Mariska and her daughter embodying vintage glamour in elegant dresses reminiscent of old Hollywood, and Peter and their sons looking sharp in formal tuxedos.
The situation was indeed a close-knit family matter, given that it primarily revolves around Mariska and her grandmother, Jayne Mansfield, who unfortunately perished in a car accident in 1967, leaving young Mariska alive.
In the HBO documentary, Mariska shared an unexpected truth about her family history: her late father was not Mickey Hargitay as previously believed, but instead, Nelson Sardelli, a well-known entertainer from Las Vegas.
She remembered that it felt as if the ground gave way beneath her, reflecting on the scene where she discovered her real heritage in the movie, according to Vanity Fair. It was like my foundation crumbled away.
It wasn’t until last month’s premiere of the movie at the Cannes Film Festival that the world discovered Mariska’s previously hidden family secret. Accompanying her on this occasion were her husband, Peter, whom she wed in 2004, and their kids.
Mariska shared with InStyle on June 6th that spending time in Cannes with her family felt similar to tectonic plates shifting. She found it incredibly significant to witness her kids feeling proud of her.
She continued, “It was so beautiful.”
And for the ER alum, having Peter and their kids’ support is everything.
In 2024, she shared with TopMob News that Peter is an exceptionally profound and emotionally resonant individual. She expressed her fondness for delving deeper into his personality and mentioned that their relationship continues to grow as they uncover new layers about each other.
The key to their long-lasting marriage lies in listening to one another, supporting one another, encouraging growth through challenges, and maintaining a strong commitment and investment. They share similar goals and highly value their relationship; it always remains their top priority.
