Mark Consuelos Grates ‘A Little Bit’ of Himself in Cooking Mishap

Mark Consuelos put his all into his latest dish—quite literally.

During the May 2nd broadcast of “Live! With Kelly and Mark”, the former Riverdale cast member shared an amusing incident that occurred in the show’s kitchen recently, involving both Kelly Ripa and Florence Pugh.

Following the Thunderbolts actress displaying a scar she obtained last year from burning herself on a pot of boiling water, Kelly mentioned that Mark experienced an unpleasant accident while zesting a lemon in our kitchen recently.

For almost 29 years, this married pair, parents to Michael (age 27), Lola (23), and Joaquin (22), confessed that a small hint of Mark remained in the last meal they were preparing together.

Mark admitted to an incident in his kitchen, which occurred during a live cooking show in March. He accidentally sliced his finger with a knife at that time.

During that incident, the 54-year-old said, “I think I got a piece of nail in there.”

Mark’s hiccups in the kitchen area of the studio are happening as he and Kelly grow accustomed to their talk show’s new location. In case you missed it, Live! recently relocated from its Upper West Side studio where it had been taping for 37 years, to a new studio at Disney’s headquarters in downtown Manhattan. This move has left the duo with a sense of nostalgia.

Mark mentioned during his interview with People on April 1 that our children have spent most of their lives in this place. They often visited their mother here and were frequently backstage, even as infants.

On her side, Kelly, who has been a co-host of the show since 2001 alongside Regis Philbin, Michael Strahan, and Ryan Seacrest, also cherishes heartwarming moments with her children at the place they consider as their second home.

She shared that they accompanied her to work each day, until it was time for them to attend school. Essentially, they were a part of my daily routine at this place, which is why we often say they spent their formative years within these very walls.

Kelly mentioned that when she had her children, maternity leave wasn’t common. However, the advantage was that she could bring her kids to work with her. Given the importance of our early morning schedule for television, they were understanding about my hours, allowing me to balance being a full-time working woman and a full-time mother at the same time.

However, what truly felt like home for her was her work family at the Live! crew, a fact she highlighted as being instrumental in helping her raise her children. (106 characters)

As a lifestyle expert, I can share that similar to me, Lola doesn’t merely view our producers as professionals in their field. Instead, she sees them as mothers just like herself – women navigating the intricacies of life and work, juggling responsibilities with grace and understanding.

This year marked the first September in over two decades where Kelly didn’t need to send a child off to school. Instead, she chose to fill the gap with a revisit of an item from 2008.

It appears that Michael might surprise or catch up with his younger sister in the photo that was posted by their father on Lola’s 19th birthday in 2020.

Joaquin is surrounded by love at his high school graduation.

It seems as if @instasuelos learned that he wouldn’t be sharing a room with @joaquinconsuelos when the latter begins his studies at the University of Michigan, and Kelly playfully hinted at this during their visit to Ann Arbor before Joaquin started there.

In March 2022, Kelly decided to take some time away for a few days to catch the Wolverines wrestling team competing at the Division 1 Championships held in Detroit.

As a freshman, Joaquin opted out of wrestling this season, and when Kelly spoke on Live following her return, she commented, “Seeing these young athletes really aged me.

In June 2021, the entire family successfully managed to travel to both Greece and Italy, a trip that was delayed due to the unexpected circumstances of the pandemic in 2020.

Kelly mentioned that the family graduation trip, originally planned for last year for our eldest son and niece, ended up being postponed so much that it turned into a trip celebrating not just them but also the arrival of our new family members (the newborns), as well.

The beautiful photo taken during their vacation in the Mediterranean was perfect, so Kelly decided to use it as their Christmas card for 2021.

Kelly labeled this old picture ‘Happy Easter’ from 2012, as she couldn’t resist poking fun at her ever-surprised teenage daughter on social media.

Mark wished the “spectacular women” in his life a happy International Women’s Day.

“Happy Valentine’s Day to the loves of my life!” Kelly wrote from the heart on Feb. 14, 2022.

Kelly celebrated the fruits of her labor on National Sons Day, Sept. 28, 2021.

In 2021, Kelly and Mark’s oldest child, their son Michael Consuelos, who was 24 years old at the time, shared this heartwarming flashback photo of him and his mother on her birthday. He captioned it, “Happy Birthday, Mom!! I wish you an exceptional day. You’re a remarkable individual and an inspiration to many. When I refer to you as a T. Rex, it’s a compliment. I hope you understand that by now.

Last August 2020, Kelly Ripa posted a remarkable reenactment of an old family snapshot from 2003 on Instagram. In this picture, her youngest son Joaquin was sitting on her lap while Michael and Lola were neatly positioned next to them. Even though Kelly humorously pointed out that “things might seem bigger,” they undeniably pulled off a convincing recreation of the original photo.

In May 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Kelly and Mark celebrated their eldest son Michael’s graduation from New York University virtually. On this special occasion, Kelly expressed her feelings on Instagram, saying, “In a blink of an eye, you graduated college. MJC, the happiness and pride you have brought our family is beyond words. I adore you deeply.

In a nostalgic Instagram post, Kelly compared her children’s growth from their younger years to the present day, saying “Throwback Thursday 2011 vs. 2019 – The walls seem smaller now.

“The Graduate #2019,” Kelly wrote on Instagram celebrating Lola’s final days of high school.

Kelly receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2015 was an all-hands-on-deck event.

Kelly matched her son’s gown and the flowers at Joaquin’s middle school graduation.

Given such a lovely family, you’d probably find yourself striking poses for selfies quite frequently instead.

Holidays always bring family together and this famous crew is no exception.

In the year 2003, Kelly and her spouse, Mark Consuelos, marked the premiere of “A Year With Frog and Toad” at Maxine’s venue located in New York City.

In the year 2001, Mark and Kelly attended the premiere of “ATLANTIS The Lost Empire” with their son, held at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City.

Regardless if they’re jetting off to a warm, tropical destination or a cold, wintery one, this family is always adept at finding fun everywhere they go.
