Mark Ronson Lands in Hospital After DJ Set Mishap

Mark Ronson may have gotten a little too into the groove.

After a recent performance as a nine-time Grammy winner at a venue in New York City, he admitted that he pushed himself too hard while attempting to get the crowd excited – an effort which ultimately led to his hospitalization.

In his April 2 Instagram post, accompanied by a picture of him in a hospital bed, Mark expressed that the PA system at the house gig was so poor that he instinctively reached out to adjust the stage monitor towards the audience during the mix, hoping to boost the sound. However, it turned out that the monitors were heavier than he anticipated.

However, even though he was in pain, the 49-year-old, who has two children with his wife Grace Gummer, managed to push through his act, only later discovering that he had suffered significant injuries.

Or,

In spite of the discomfort, the 49-year-old, a father of two with his spouse Grace Gummer, persevered during his performance, eventually recognizing that he had incurred some severe injuries.

“Two popped bicep tendons and one finished gig later,” he continued, “here we are, baby!”

In a playful manner, he referenced his collaborator, Lady Gaga – who he worked with on “Shallow” from the 2019 movie “A Star Is Born” and her popular track “Born This Way” – by saying, “I guess we were #moldedthisway.

The artist behind “Uptown Funk,” who initially gained fame as a disc jockey in New York City and later became an Academy Award-winning composer-producer, offered a peek into his recovery process just a week after announcing the upcoming release of his memoir titled “Night People: Surviving as a ’90s NYC DJ.

Reflecting on his numerous accomplishments – like working alongside prominent artists such as Amy Winehouse, Bruno Mars, Adele, and Paul McCartney – prior to its release, the writer of “I’m Just Ken” chose to honor the beginning of his career by organizing a series of performances in NYC. This included a five-hour vinyl set.

As a young artist, immersing myself in the vibrant atmosphere of pulsating nightclub lights and thumping beats paved the way for my current journey.

In a recent Instagram post, Mark shared that his upcoming memoir will highlight three significant passions in his life: mastering the art of DJing with its intense highs and lows, the electrifying nightlife of New York City, and the eccentric club characters who became an integral part of his life. He referred to this book as a heartfelt tribute to a bygone era that not only influenced his career but also molded his personal identity – a period where pursuing my craft led me towards self-discovery.

Previously seen on Bachelor Nation, this individual revealed he had to visit the hospital while crawling on his hands and knees because of intense back pain which worsened during a camping trip with a companion in an RV.

Currently, from my knees to my toes, it’s oddly numb, believe it or not,” he remarked during his Trading Secrets podcast on March 24th. “To give you an idea, about two to four weeks ago, I might have been squatting around 295 pounds. Now, I can’t even do a squat standing on one leg; I would lose balance. It feels like I’ve had a stroke or something.” (Trying to avoid colloquial language and maintain a more formal tone)

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Hailey Bieber experienced one of the most terrifying moments in her life when she suffered stroke-like symptoms while having breakfast with husband Justin Bieber in March 2022. As she recounted on YouTube a month later, she couldn’t respond to him asking if she was okay because she wasn’t sure. When he asked again, she tried to speak but couldn’t. Her right side of the face began drooping, and she struggled to form sentences.

Though the facial drooping stopped, her speech returned, Hailey decided to visit a hospital for a checkup. Doctors discovered a small blood clot in her brain, which they categorized as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA).

Further examination at the University of California, Los Angeles, revealed that Hailey had a hole in her heart called patent foramen ovale (PFO). The doctors explained that the blood clot escaped through this hole and traveled to her brain, causing the TIA.

After undergoing a successful PFO closure procedure, Hailey said she was now feeling fantastic.

In the same year Hailey went through a health crisis, Justin Bieber also encountered one. Specifically, in June 2022, Justin was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which affected his facial nerves and led to temporary paralysis in parts of his face, causing him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour. He explained on Instagram that this condition originated from a virus attacking the nerve in his ear and facial nerves, resulting in full paralysis on one side of his face. He found it difficult to eat due to the paralysis but eventually recovered. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well, feeling much better despite the scary and unexpected situation, assuring everyone that he would be fine.

After undergoing surgery on April 24th, Foxx woke up on May 4th in a wheelchair and was unable to walk. He then relocated to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.

“I want to express my gratitude for every prayer,” he said, “as I believe each one played a crucial role in my recovery.

Actress Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, wrote an essay titled “A Battle for My Life” in 2019. In the piece, she described a debilitating headache while at the gym that led to severe vomiting and worsening pain, which she later learned was caused by a damaged brain.

She was rushed to the hospital for a scan, where she received the grim diagnosis of a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a life-threatening type of stroke. Emmy nominee Clarke underwent immediate surgery to repair the aneurysm, which she described as excruciating.

During her recovery, she experienced aphasia and found herself uttering nonsensical words. However, after a week, the aphasia subsided, and she was discharged from the hospital a month later.

In 2013, a follow-up scan revealed that the growth had doubled in size, necessitating another operation. “When they woke me,” she wrote, “I was screaming in pain. The procedure had failed. I had a massive bleed and the doctors made it clear that my chances of survival were precarious if they didn’t operate again.”

Fortunately, Emilia reported, she is now fully recovered and in good health.
