As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the latest announcement about Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has me absolutely thrilled! The fact that we’ll be visiting Wakanda is just the cherry on top of an already exciting cake.
It was announced earlier this year that “Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra” would be set in Occupied Paris during World War II. However, it’s now been revealed that there are multiple locations included in the game, and an additional setting has just been confirmed.
According to Entertainment Weekly’s report, the game developer has announced that “Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra” will also include journeys to Wakanda, and they have unveiled a piece of artwork depicting the lush jungles of this destination. You can check it out below.
Based on statements made by Amy Hennig, head of Skydance New Media and famously known for creating both the “Legacy of Kain” and “Uncharted” series, the game will weave a tale that takes players around the world to various locations yet undisclosed. According to Hennig, these locations will showcase an astonishing level of detail, reminiscent of real-life photography or high-definition cinema.
Regarding the part Wakanda might play in the game’s narrative, considering its historical context, Hennig described it as follows: “At this moment in time, Wakanda remains secluded from the world and safeguarded by an impassable forest. They tend to avoid interfering, but circumstances arise that drag them into the fray. They must guard their own interests. The world is shrinking; no satellites as of yet, but they’ll be here soon. You can bring down planes attempting to fly over Wakanda, but for how long can they stay hidden?
Hennig further noted that in this game, Captain America and Black Panther find themselves facing similar adversaries and sharing common concerns about ongoing events. However, at first, they seem to be working at cross-purposes. He emphasized the importance of unity among good people to combat evil, suggesting that if they were to split up, their efforts would likely fail.
Apart from discussing the aims of Marvel 1943, Hennig has also mentioned that Skydance New Media is striving for groundbreaking achievements in the realm of visually stunning and cinematic video games. Learn more about this intriguing topic by clicking here.
