Marvel Announces Godzilla Vs. Hulk

Last year, Marvel Comics revealed they were preparing a massive crossover event involving the most renowned monsters from kaiju universe. Initially, when Godzilla stepped into the 616 world, he clashed with Marvel’s own super-family, the Fantastic Four. However, the next adversary for this giant reptile has been decided. In an upcoming battle, Godzilla will face off against Bruce Banner in a fresh confrontation that brings together their strongest green characters from each fictional universe. The release date and creative team for this clash between the Emerald Titans have also been disclosed, with Godzilla’s official social media providing fans an exclusive sneak peek.

In terms of epic battles against colossal creatures, Marvel Comics has historically provided Bruce Banner with a plethora of monstrous adversaries, and Fing Fang Foom is one such opponent he’s faced numerous times. This beast from Marvel’s stable bears some resemblance to Godzilla, but Foom’s intelligence and flight capabilities elevate it above Godzilla in many people’s eyes. However, the Hulk has consistently managed to best Fing Fang Foom, which leads us to wonder how Bruce Banner will fare against Godzilla when their confrontation commences on April 16th.

Green Goliaths Collide

The epic battle between Godzilla and Hulk is set to hit shelves on April 16th. This thrilling crossover is being crafted by writer Gerry Dugan and artist Giuseppe Camuncoli. Although specifics about the colossal clash remain scarce, it’s clear that this is just one of many battles where the Monster King will face off against Marvel’s mightiest heroes. The Kaiju Crossover To End Them All

If you’re curious about how the collaboration between the green titans came to fruition, Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski delved into the Godzilla crossover in detail towards the end of last year. Here’s what the EIC shared: “At first, we approached them for our reprints, but as conversations continued, it became evident that both our teams were eager to collaborate further. The idea for these crossovers developed over time, working hand-in-hand with Toho. We felt the ideal moment for their release was during Godzilla’s 70th anniversary next year. So far, we’ve been delighted to work on these projects, and we hope this is just the beginning of many more exciting collaborations.

Dan Buckley, Marvel’s President of Comics & Franchises, was thrilled to discuss Marvel’s history with Godzilla and the creative teams’ approach to creating the collaboration. For us, monsters like Godzilla, particularly this iconic one, are significant components of Marvel’s comic legacy. We were eager to collaborate with their teams on something exciting. We’ve long admired Godzilla, but with its growing popularity in recent years, it reflects our current cultural vibe and showcases the enjoyable escapism that comics can provide. Our primary focus is always on the storytelling, but opportunities like this crossover offer a fun diversion for fans of both Marvel and Godzilla – an entertaining adventure they won’t want to miss.
