Marvel Announces Psylocke Solo Series, Her First in 14 Years

As a longtime fan of the X-Men, I’m thrilled to see the post-Krakoa era unfold with new titles and storylines. And among these exciting additions, I can’t help but feel a particular connection to the upcoming Psylocke series.

Marvel’s post-Krakoa era is still finding its way forward. This week, Marvel unveiled another addition to their expanding X-Men series: Psylocke. Details about the comic are scarce, but Marvel has confirmed it will be showcased during the X-Men: From the Ashes panel at Comic-Con in San Diego. The panel runs from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday for those planning to attend.

In the expanded X-Men roster, Psylocke now teams up with notable members such as X-Men, Phoenix, X-Force, NYX, Uncanny X-Men, X-Factor, Exceptional X-Men, Wolverine, and Storm. Additionally, new limited series featuring Dazzler, Sentinels, and Mystique have been announced for the relaunch.

“Jed MacKay, the writer of X-Men, described the relaunch to IGN as focusing on rebuilding. It’s a storyline about discovering where you belong after leaving something behind, and transforming destruction into creation. Metaphorically and literally, the X-Men are traveling in the Marauder and residing in a salvaged Sentinel factory – a former Orchis facility. This theme of reusing the past to establish a new identity is deeply embedded within our X-Men comic series.”

In the opening issue of “X-Men“, as stated in the formal summary, a fresh squad of X-Men emerges, headquartered at an old Sentinel factory in Alaska. This team is headed by Cyclops and comprises both long-standing members, beloved characters, and promising newcomers: Beast, Psylocke, Magik, Kid Omega, Temper, Juggernaut, and Magneto. Following Krakoa’s downfall, these X-Men hoist a banner of resistance! Dangerous situations necessitate bold responses, and as they strive to safeguard the future of mutantkind, Cyclops’ team encounters new adversaries, among them the enigmatic last vestige of the anti-mutant organization Orchis.
