Marvel Collects Deadpool's First Original Graphic Novel in New Hardcover Edition

As a dedicated comic book enthusiast with over three decades of reading under my belt, I can confidently say that the upcoming “Deadpool: Bad/Badder Blood Hardcover Collected Edition” is an absolute must-have for any Deadpool fanatic. Rob Liefeld’s return to the Merc with a Mouth’s world has been nothing short of spectacular, and this hardcover collection promises to encapsulate the essence of Deadpool’s chaotic adventures like never before.

35 years after the character Deadpool (created by Rob Liefeld) first appeared in New Mutants #98, Marvel Comics will compile two of his original graphic novels – “Deadpool: Bad Blood” and its sequel “Deadpool: Badder Blood” – into a single hardcover book next year. Liefeld, who co-created Deadpool, returned to the character for the 2017 comic series “Bad Blood,” which was later reissued as a four-issue limited series in 2022, and its upcoming sequel that introduced the Mojoworld mercenary Shatterstorm.

Starting March 25th, 2025, I’ll have my hands on the “Deadpool: Bad/Badder Blood” hardcover! This bad boy compiles issues #1-4 of “Deadpool: Bad Blood” (2022) and issues #1-5 of “Deadpool: Badder Blood” (2023). With a whopping 264 pages, it’ll set you back $49.99. Can’t wait to dive into this action-packed adventure!

In December, Marvel Comics plans to release a fresh edition of the “X-Force” Omnibus Vol. 1, which includes the works of artists like Liefeld, Fabian Nicieza, Todd McFarlane, Mark Pacella, Mike Mignola, and John Romita Jr. This publication coincides with the final issue of Liefeld’s “Deadpool Team-Up” comic series, a five-part story where Liefeld is both writer and artist, featuring guest appearances from iconic characters like Wolverine, Hulk, Crystar, Ghost-Spider, and Liefeld’s creation Major X. This series is set to hit the shelves on August 28th and will run until December.

Liefeld expressed his firm conviction to ComicBook during the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con, stating that the Deadpool Team-Up is most likely his last Deadpool project as he will be turning 60 in four years and is unsure how long his hand and eye coordination will last. He has had an outstanding decade providing beloved Deadpool stories, with Deadpool: Bad Blood reaching No. 1 for the first time in 2017, which was a significant surprise to him.

In a farewell twist, Rob Liefeld, one of the Image Comics co-founders, described “Deadpool Team-Up” as an unconventional swan song. “If I proposed this idea to Marvel, they would likely dismiss it quickly,” he stated. “However, since it’s my final work, they allowed me to go ahead with it. It’s nothing like trying to be trendy or edgy. Instead, it’s a wild, peculiar ride that you shouldn’t want to miss. It’s strange, it’s unusual, but don’t forget about it. With this character, I have no more stories to tell. After 33 years, I’ll just enjoy watching others continue the journey.”
