Marvel Confirms Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight Return

As a die-hard Marvel fan with years of comics under my belt and countless hours spent in the realm of superheroes, I can hardly contain my excitement! Oscar Isaac returning as Moon Knight for the What If…? series is nothing short of fantastic news! I’ve been eagerly awaiting his return ever since he first donned the white suit back in 2022.

In simpler terms, we can say that Oscar Isaac is going to be back in the Marvel Universe. He will once again play the character Marc Spector/Moon Knight in the upcoming season of “Marvel’s What If…?” This series features him as the Fist of Khonshu, a role he originally played. The announcement was made at the D23 panel by Brad Winderbaum, who is in charge of Marvel Animation, but details about Spector’s specific role and the number of episodes he will appear in were not disclosed.

So far, Isaac has made his debut as Moon Knight in the inaugural season of a Disney+ series titled after his character, and ever since then, the actor has been advocating for his reappearance. In the year 2022, several months following the launch of Moon Knight, Isaac revealed in an interview with ComicBook that discussions about his return to a Marvel Studios project have taken place.

At one point, Isaac shared with us his enthusiasm for his latest graphic novel, “Head Wounds: Sparrow”. He mentioned some engaging discussions they’ve had about the book, but he was vague about the details. As of now, there’s no definitive answer regarding a second season, but they are indeed discussing the possibility.

Will there be a Midnight Sons movie?

In the present year, Isaac revealed his aspiration to portray the character of Moon Knight in a possible Midnight Sons movie venture. Notably, the Midnight Sons constitute Marvel Comics’ elite supernatural group.

During a panel at Middle East Film and Comic Con, Isaac expressed his thoughts about Midnight Suns: “I believe there’s an intriguing prospect in this storyline. The characters are so captivating, and now that we’ve established their identities – Marc, Steven, Jake – it could be fascinating to envision him as a team member and explore the dynamics that would arise. I think it would be thrilling, and personally, I really hope there’s potential for further development in this direction.”

Marvel Studios’ upcoming movie lineup features “Captain America: A New World” on February 14th, 2025, followed by “Thunderbolts” on May 5th, 2025. Next is “The Fantastic Four: Initial Journey” on July 25th, 2025. After that comes “Blade” on November 7th, 2025. The lineup continues with “Avengers: Apocalypse” on May 1st, 2026, and finally, “Avengers: Secret Wars” on May 7th, 2027.

Marvel Television’s series, “Agatha All Along,” will start streaming on Disney+ in September. The series “Daredevil: Born Again” is scheduled to debut next March. As for the Marvel Animation schedule, the second season of “X-Men ’97” and the premiere of “Black Panther: Eyes of Wakanda” have yet to be announced.
