Marvel Just Put a New Spin on Venom's Signature Catchphrase

As a seasoned gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in the virtual worlds of Marvel and Venom, I can confidently say that the latest developments in the symbiote saga have me utterly thrilled! The concept of two Venoms battling it out is reminiscent of those epic boss fights where you must strategize to defeat the ultimate enemy.

In a fresh take on a well-known Venom quote, Marvel is redefining its significance as the much-anticipated film Venom: The Last Dance hits theaters this month. Sony Pictures bills it as the culmination of Tom Hardy’s Venom journey. Meanwhile, in the comics, Marvel is deep into a significant symbiote narrative that sets father against son. In Venom War, Eddie Brock and Dylan Brock engage in a struggle to determine who will be the ultimate Venom host. Additionally, other adversaries are present, including Eddie’s future evil counterpart, Meridius, and Carnage. With sides chosen, perhaps having two Venoms is preferable to one, implying a more formidable presence on the battlefield.

In issue #3 of “Venom War,” the talented team of Al Ewing, Iban Coello, Frank D’Armata, and Ariana Maher from Visual Effects (VC) delve into the escalating conflict between Eddie and Dylan Brock. The strife primarily stems from the manipulations of Doctor Doom and Kang the Conqueror.

On the contrary, Kang activates an emergency measure in Red Goblin that eliminates Flexo from the situation. With both Red Goblin and Flexo stepping away from the conflict, all that remains is Dylan witnessing his father Eddie losing blood on a wrestling mat. Naturally, a series like Venom War wouldn’t conclude so early, and the manner in which Marvel wraps up this issue will be delightful for Venom fans.

“We Are Venom” takes on a whole new meaning

In the storyline of “Venom War”, Spider-Man and the Venom symbiote, who reconnected at the beginning of this event, witness Eddie Brock’s gradual deterioration. Initially, Venom refused to bond with either Eddie or Dylan Brock in an attempt to prevent two bleak futures from materializing. However, as time goes by, Venom comes to understand the true necessity it has for both Eddie and Dylan.

In a surprising turn of events, instead of having to choose between Eddie and Dylan Brock, Spider-Man’s arch nemesis, Venom, finds a unique solution. Rather than bonding with just one, it decides to link with both brothers simultaneously. As the epic saga of “Venom War” #3 comes to a close, Eddie and Dylan declare jointly, “We Are Venom!” in unison.

Marvel teases the All-New Venom

Despite the ongoing battle known as “Venom War”, Marvel has already begun to set up the events following its conclusion. Al Ewing will carry on writing the exploits of the Lethal Protector, collaborating with artist Carlos G?mez in a new series titled “All-New Venom“. In contrast to Ewing’s previous “Venom” series which delved into time travel and cosmic adventures, this new comic will focus on the gritty streets and an enigmatic character hidden beneath the gooey symbiote suit. Though the true identity of this individual remains a secret, Marvel has presented four possibilities that fans may recognize: Rick Jones, Madame Masque, Robbie Robertson, and Luke Cage.

As a gamer, I’d say: “If you’re craving something fresh and different from what I’ve experienced before, then All-New Venom is just that! It’s more like a Spider-Man-style tale. The setting is our very own New York City, the one we all know and walk through. Every location in the story could be a place you’d visit, or at least a type of place you might recognize. Of course, when we venture into a warehouse… well, I can’t resist doing a bit of research, finding real-life warehouses, then giving them a twist to make it legal. So yes, every location in this story feels like a natural part of New York City.” That’s how Ewing described All-New Venom taking the street-level approach.

Ewing explained, “Instead of focusing on the grand cosmic narrative, we’re shifting towards a more personal, character-driven story. This tale will still have plenty of street-level superhero action, such as web-slinging, chain-wielding, and the Venom-like activities. It feels like I’m stepping back into an classic style of superhero comics, but with some unique elements we’ll introduce for a fresh take.
