As a gamer who’s been around the block more times than I care to count, these new Marvel Legends Retro figures are like a breath of fresh air! The Venom and Professor X / Warlord figures, especially, have caught my eye – and wallet. I remember collecting action figures back in the day, and these retro designs take me right back to those nostalgic times.
2024’s San Diego Comic-Con saw a multitude of new exclusives from Hasbro, yet the Marvel Legends Retro figurines featuring Venom and Professor X in Shi’ar Armor as Warlord stood out as crowd favorites. These sought-after figures were swiftly snapped up during their initial release in July, but luckily, there’s a second opportunity to secure them at this current moment.

For Marvel Legends enthusiasts, Hasbro has introduced a new 2-pack featuring the Punisher and Bushwacker, modeled after the Punisher War Journal comics. You can now pre-order this set at Entertainment Earth for $54.99, with an expected release in January. Unfortunately, the listing on Amazon is currently out of stock. The set includes a total of 13 accessories such as an extra head for the Punisher, alternative hands for both characters, and various weapons.
If you’re not aware, Carl Burbank, also known as Bushwacker, was initially a priest who departed the church and transformed into a CIA assassin (which is quite an unusual career path). He was first introduced by Ann Nocenti and artist Rick Leonardi in Daredevil #248 from 1987. Most often, he’s been seen in issues of Daredevil, but he’s also encountered characters like Wolverine from the X-Men and the Punisher. In this context, “hired gun” means something different as he is a villain renowned for his extraordinary talent to transform his cybernetic arm into multiple types of weapons.
Captain America: Brave New World Resets The Table For The MCU
The Multiverse Saga has brought significant alterations to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). According to Anthony Mackie, “Captain America: Brave New World” significantly rearranges the pieces on the board for our Earth-bound superheroes. Meanwhile, Deadpool and Wolverine are having a blast traversing through time, but street-level heroes like Sam Wilson will have their work cut out for them. Mackie mentioned to Entertainment Weekly (EW) that this film contains important clues about the future trajectory of these storylines. With various global powers growing restless, which is typically not a positive sign.
The Winter Soldier, suggesting that the films are establishing a new, clear brand for what Marvel is aiming towards in the future.
Mackie expressed, “The title suggests a change – we face a larger, more formidable adversary. Previously in Captain America: The First Avenger to Endgame, the conflict was always about good versus evil. Now that we’ve overcome that, what lies ahead? If the villains return, how will they manifest this time? This new phase presents a fresh narrative with novel characters, distinct ideologies, and paints a picture of a different world we are venturing into.”
