As a die-hard Marvel fan, I can hardly contain my excitement about the lineup at this year’s New York Comic Con! From the legendary C.B. Cebulski to the visionary Ryan Meinerding, it feels like an all-star cast of creators is descending upon us.
Marvel has unveiled its plans for New York Comic Con 2024, featuring panels, previews, and specialized areas from Marvel Television (the reboot of Daredevil: Born Again), Marvel Animation (Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man), Marvel Comics (Amazing Spider-Man, All-New Venom, and Fantastic Four), and Marvel Games (Marvel Contest of Champions and the forthcoming collaboration with Magic: The Gathering). This event will take place at the Javits Center in Hell’s Kitchen, the same location for the upcoming Daredevil revival on Disney+.
At booth number 2153 on the convention floor, Marvel has prepared an exhibit showcasing costumes from the upcoming series “Daredevil: Born Again” and a photo opportunity with everyone’s favorite wall-crawler, “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.” These exciting experiences will be available later this year, followed by the arrival of “Born Again” in 2025 on Disney+. Additionally, fans can test out a hands-on demo for the mobile game “Marvel Contest of Champions,” which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and get an exclusive sneak peek at Marvel’s presence in the trading card game “Magic the Gathering.” A special panel dedicated to “Magic the Gathering” will be held on Friday, October 18th.
Representatives from Marvel Comics, including Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski, Executive Editors Tom Brevoort and Ryan Penagos (also known as Agent M), and writer Ryan North (of Fantastic Four fame) will be present to share insights into the upcoming developments in the Marvel Universe.
In this highlight, Marvel’s iconic family will share the limelight with the upcoming developments in the Ultimate series – featuring Jonathan Hickman and Marco Checchetto’s Ultimate Spider-Man and Deniz Camp and Juan Frigeri’s The Ultimates. Also, we have the One World Under Doom event, which focuses on Doctor Doom taking over as the Sorcerer Supreme, and the recently announced crossover between the X-Men and Uncanny X-Men, marking the first significant event for the X-Men: From the Ashes relaunch.
In another Marvel Comics panel, there’s a hint at the Spider-Verse segment of the Marvel Universe, revealing the upcoming saga of “The 8 Deaths of Spider-Man” in Joe Kelly’s forthcoming run on “Amazing Spider-Man“, set to debut in November, and the launch of “All-New Venom” by Al Ewing and Carlos G?mez in December. This new version of “Venom” is a gritty reboot where an unidentified host merges with the symbiote to become the latest Lethal Protector, following the aftermath of the “Venom War”.
