Marvel Previews Wolverine: Revenge by Jonathan Hickman and Greg Capullo (Exclusive)

As a lifelong comic book enthusiast with a soft spot for the clawed Wolverine, I can hardly contain my excitement for this upcoming collaboration between the brilliant minds of Jonathan Hickman and Greg Capullo in the five-issue miniseries, “Wolverine: Revenge”. Having witnessed Hickman’s masterful reimagining of the X-Men universe and his work on projects like G.O.D.S., I have no doubt that this series will be nothing short of spectacular.

Two renowned comic book creators, Jonathan Hickman and Greg Capullo, are breathing new life into the character Wolverine. In the upcoming miniseries titled “Wolverine: Revenge“, these collaborators will reimagine Logan’s battles against numerous enemies in a brutal, universe-spanning adventure. Post his stint with the X-Men franchise, Hickman has been instrumental in reshaping the dynamics between science and magic in G.O.D.S., as well as initiating the relaunch of the Ultimate Universe and scripting Ultimate Spider-Man. On the other hand, Capullo is back with Marvel after a 30-year hiatus, where he’s been creating covers for Wolverine and Deadpool. Now, we get to witness what these creative powerhouses have in store for our favorite mutant, Wolverine.

In an exclusive first look, the highly-anticipated “Wolverine: Revenge” #1, penned by Jonathan Hickman and illustrated by Greg Capullo, Tim Townsend, and Ivan Plascencia, presents a thrilling adventure. This issue sees Wolverine embarking on a mission to the Savage Land to aid its residents in subduing a colossal beast that’s been terrorizing their villages. The beast manages to chomp down on the dinosaur Wolverine arrives upon, forcing him into an action-packed response where he unleashes his indestructible Adamantium claws. As it appears the beast has gained control by swallowing Wolverine whole, he deftly carves his escape from within its mouth, leaving a trail of blood across the landscape behind him.

Wolverine: Revenge gets red band edition

Similar to Blood Hunt, the Wolverine: Revenge comic book series will also offer “R-rated” or “red band” editions. These special versions will contain extra pages not included in the standard edition. According to Marvel’s press release, these red band editions will showcase “unparalleled violence you won’t find elsewhere!” for mature audiences. To shield younger readers, these editions will be packaged with a protective cover or polybag.

“Capullo expressed his excitement about coming back to Marvel and causing trouble when ‘Wolverine: Revenge’ was announced, saying, ‘And who better to do that with than the skilled writer Hickman?’ To mark the occasion, Marvel has given us more freedom, allowing us to create a brutal and intense Wolverine story for fans this summer. Let’s hope they’re ready!”

Hickman expressed his gratitude for collaborating with the iconic Greg, stating that their primary objective was to deliver an exhilarating Wolverine tale worthy of both the character and Greg’s return to Marvel. As he mentioned, the powers-that-be gave us freedom, and the outcome is a truly thrilling comic book. I’m genuinely excited for everyone to read it!

As a long-time fan of Wolverine comics, I am thrilled to share with you an exclusive sneak peek at issue #1 of “Wolverine: Revenge.” Having followed the character’s journey through various storylines and adaptations, I can confidently say that this new series promises to deliver a fresh take on one of Marvel’s most iconic characters. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, August 21st, when you can get your hands on this highly anticipated issue. Trust me; it’s going to be a thrilling ride!
