The prospect of watching Sam Wilson, our noble and resilient Falcon, donning the mantle of Captain America, and going toe-to-toe with none other than the Red Hulk, is nothing short of electrifying.
In an upcoming Marvel comic, Captain America squares off against Red Hulk. This exciting encounter is perfectly timed for “Captain America: Brave New World,” the latest film in the Captain America series, which stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson. Making his MCU debut in “Captain America: Brave New World,” Red Hulk will also meet up with Captain America in a new comic book series titled “Sam Wilson: Captain America.” As Marvel fans eagerly await the big-screen confrontation between Captain America and Red Hulk, the comics are offering a tantalizing glimpse of the upcoming showdown.

The comic series titled “Sam Wilson: Captain America” is jointly written by Greg Pak (known for his work on “Star Wars: Darth Vader”) and Evan Narcisse (“Wakanda”), with art by Eder Messias (“Phases of Moon Knight”). Similar to the series “Captain America: Brave New World”, this limited series finds Sam Wilson and Red Hulk at odds in a suspenseful spy tale. When Captain America discovers a sinister plan disguised as a tech startup, he’ll be astonished to learn that Red Hulk is overseeing the company’s security.

Collaborating with Evan on this book is simply wonderful. We’ve spent countless hours exchanging grand concepts, completing each other’s sentences, and bursting into laughter over the tale we’re developing. The manuscripts coming in from Eder have been nothing short of awe-inspiring, Pak expressed.
Narcisse mentioned that the upcoming journey will be thrilling, swift, and packed with excitement, while delving into the concept of being excluded from the American Dream. He expressed his belief that Sam has never experienced such skies before.
Narcisse shared his insights about Sam Wilson: “One remarkable aspect of Sam Wilson is his ability to balance everyday man qualities with superhero traits, much like traditional Marvel characters. The heart of ‘Better Angels’ will delve into how he handles this balancing act and how he and others are altering the symbolism of the Captain America legacy in a unique way.
“We’re pulling out all the stops to tell a story that matters, that goes deep into what it means for a Black social worker from Harlem to pick up the shield – and put on those wings! – while delivering massive action and thrills in the grand tradition of Marvel super spy science fiction,” Pak explained. “I particularly love how grounded the book is with characters like Sam’s fast-talking cousin Billie, my new favorite character ever, while taking to the sky in ways you’ve never seen! And yes, that’s a big tease! Don’t you dare miss it!”
