In a less dramatic unveiling for a new character, NetEase has affirmed that Psylocke is set to debut in the Marvel Rivals lineup upon release. According to Miller Ross on Twitter, a sneak peek of the character was given earlier via the official Discord following a trivia event.
From her appearance and the information provided in the trivia, she appears to be modeled after Sai, a character from Peach Momoko’s “Demon Days: X-Men.” This alternate world is set in Feudal Japan and teems with Yokai. In this setting, Sai goes on various quests and encounters familiar faces like Logan and Hulkmaru.
Though we’re unsure of her full skillset, the preview hints at teleportation and an attack from above involving a dramatic dive-slash. A comprehensive trailer might be unveiled during this year’s Tokyo Game Show, which takes place from September 26th to 29th.
Marvel Rivals sets sail on December 6th, accessible on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms. This free-to-play game introduces 25 characters at its debut, all of which are immediately accessible with no need for unlocking. Future additions will be made available for free post-launch.
