As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve seen it all – from pixelated pixel art to hyper-realistic graphics that make you question reality itself. But when it comes to unique gameplay mechanics and intriguing character dynamics, nothing quite compares to the upcoming Marvel Rivals.
As Marvel Rivals debuts this week, NetEase Games has unveiled another hero from its 33-character lineup: Cloak and Dagger. Unlike what you might expect, the player doesn’t control each character separately; instead, Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson are combined into a single playable character. Learn more about them in the details provided below.
Dagger functions both as an attack on foes at a distance and a healer for allies from afar; it additionally creates a protective healing zone. Conversely, Cloak renders nearby teammates invulnerable and briefly transports adversaries to another dimension, which is particularly beneficial against enemy ultimate abilities. Both characters are capable of deploying walls that inflict damage on enemies as they pass through them.
The pair’s Ultimate ability is quite clear-cut; it involves them appearing on the battlefield, charging together, and slicing through opponents while simultaneously leaving harmful tracks behind. In summary, this duo provides a distinctive mix of assistance and a strategy for dealing with potentially deadly threats.
Marvel Rivals will debut on December 6th, available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms. There’s just one character left to reveal, so keep an eye out for updates about the iconic Wolverine!
