Marvel Rivals’ Most Hated Character Is Also Picked the Most

As a gamer immersed in the Marvel Rivals universe, I’m thrilled to be right in the heart of the excitement surrounding “Season One.” This season promises to bring three fresh maps, an innovative Doom Match game mode, and four extraordinary new heroes – yes, you guessed it, the Fantastic Four! With over 20 million players already diving into this superhero PVP shooter since its launch, I can’t wait to battle it out against Marvel’s legendary superheroes and villains.

With these new characters joining the action, I’m looking forward to broadening my character selection and maybe even switching up from my go-to hero to give someone else a spin. The arrival of Mister Fantastic is bound to offer a unique gameplay experience with his extraordinary abilities. Before the newbies make their entrance though, Marvel Rivals has just updated its Hero Hot List, and some fascinating insights about certain characters’ popularity have been shared, including the hero most commonly chosen by players.

So, get ready for new adventures, Marvel Rivals fans! The action is heating up!

At the peak of the rankings, you’ll find none other than Jeff the Land Shark. This character, known for its strategic prowess and popular choice among players, has proven to be a game-changer with an exceptional pick rate. According to Hero Hot List, Jeff the Land Shark holds the top spot with a 21.18% pick rate, slightly surpassing Venom’s 19.09%. If we consider the last reported player count from Marvel Rivals, which was 20 million, approximately 4.34 million players would have chosen Jeff the Land Shark. Additionally, it’s worth noting that another significant factor supports this trend.

Jeff the Land Shark Is the Most Picked Character in Marvel Rivals

Among all the win percentages for both Competitive and Quickplay modes on PC, Jeff the Lank Shark ranks nearly last. His win rates vary between 44.38% and 45.39%, while Mantis leads the pack with a 56.03% win rate. Notably, Jeff’s win rate is significantly lower than the other six strategists, and it’s the only one that falls below 50%. It’s worth mentioning that Jeff is the most commonly selected character, so the data includes a larger sample size due to his popularity among players.

If you combine the victory percentages with the total number of players who picked Jeff the Land Shark, it’s clear that approximately 4 out of every 10 Jeff players win their matches, which leaves about 6 out of 10 without a win – quite surprising given his early-season advantage. It’s worth mentioning that an adjustment to Jeff’s ultimate ability is planned for Season One, so we might see these figures shifting up or down quite quickly.
