Marvel Rivals Season 1 is bringing the Fantastic Four — here’s the Invisible Woman in action

One of the biggest games of last year is getting even bigger.

Right now, NetEase Games’ Marvel Rivals is experiencing a surge in popularity, amassing over 20 million players and quickly climbing the ranks as one of the most-played games across all platforms it supports. In anticipation for Season 1, the development team has been unveiling sneak peeks at gameplay clips featuring upcoming characters, such as members of the Fantastic Four.

Below, you’ll find the unveiling trailer for Susan Storm, more famously recognized as the Invisible Woman. It showcases how her unique invisibility and force field abilities can significantly impact the course of combat on the battlefield.

As a hero with a strategic mindset, Invisible Woman has the ability to create shields to safeguard herself and her allies from incoming attacks. Additionally, she can become invisible, enabling players to move stealthily through enemy territory or take a brief respite. Notably, she also has some sharp words for Namor.

Season 1 brings more characters, maps, and a new mode

In the new season, not every member of the Fantastic Four will debut right away. Initially, only Susan Storm and Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) will appear, with Ben Grimm (The Thing) and Susan’s brother Johnny (the Human Torch) joining later in the season. So, if you were hoping for some immediate “clobberin'” action, I’m afraid you’ll have to be patient.

Before the introduction of the Fantastic Four, Marvel Rivals initially debuted with a strong lineup of 33 characters. Similarly, as with any new characters joining the game, including the remaining members of the Fantastic Four, Susan Storm will be freely accessible for all players to use.

Besides introducing a host of fresh characters, Season 1 offers players an exciting trio of new maps to explore. The Sanctum Sanctorum and Midtown are set to debut in the early part of the season, with Central Park joining the roster later in the season’s second half.

To wrap things up, a fresh gameplay option called “Doom Match” is being integrated this season. In this mode, 8 to 12 combatants will clash head-on, promising an exciting and chaotic free-for-all experience for everyone involved.

Marvel Rivals Season 1 is set to commence on January 10, 2025. As stated by the creators, each season typically lasts approximately three months, but fear not about exhausting your time to acquire specific rewards. Following in the footsteps of games such as Halo Infinite and Helldivers 2, Marvel Rivals ensures that premium Battle Passes won’t expire, so if you buy the pass and then take a break from the game for a while, you won’t miss out on any rewards.

Marvel Rivals can be played for free right now on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC through Steam and Epic Games Store, and PlayStation 5.
