Fans will have a detailed, up-close view of Sam Wilson’s revamped Captain America uniform. Presently, Sam is the Sentinel of Liberty within the Avengers team, battling alongside Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Black Panther, and Storm to safeguard Earth. At present, Earth’s strongest champions are preoccupied with countering Doctor Doom’s global conquest, making them susceptible to an assault by the newly formed Masters of Evil. This malevolent organization has seized control of the Avengers’ floating headquarters, the Impossible City, rendering only Captain America and its intelligent consciousness capable of thwarting their schemes. In preparation for this battle, Captain America has been given a new costume, and the artist responsible for its design is now revealing his craftsmanship.
Valerio Schiti, the artist behind Avengers, unveiled a sneak peek of Captain America’s upcoming costume on social media. The sketches give us a glimpse of Cap’s Plastoid Armor from various angles, including the visor, arm sleeve, wings, and the armor itself. Interestingly, Man-Slayers – drones controlled by the Impossible City – have been reprogrammed by the Masters of Evil to serve their purposes. However, one of these drones has been modified by the Impossible City to function as armor for Captain America. Here are the designs for your perusal.
The armor predominantly features a combination of blue and black hues, with Captain America’s upper body adorned in blue and his legs in black. It bears a resemblance to the Captain America costume donned by Anthony Mackie in Captain America: Brave New World, boasting a visor for combat situations and a more expansive visor for no-air/hyperspeed conditions. The sleeves of the armor extend to shield his hands, and under pressure, the technology beneath becomes slightly discernible. Furthermore, movements may emit a trail of red light.
Behind the costume, there are large feathered appendages akin to the wings donned by Sam Wilson as Falcon and later Captain America.
In the current residence of the Avengers, known as the Impossible City, the MASTERS OF EVIL have taken control! This leaves us questioning: Who will protect the world now that DOOM holds power? And how can the Avengers possibly battle on numerous fronts?” The description for Avengers #26 reads.
If you didn’t catch Captain America: Brave New World in cinemas, mark your calendars for May 28th as it will be available exclusively on Disney+.
