Marvel Snap Season Missions Are Broken, But a Fix Is Coming

As a seasoned Marvel Snap enthusiast with countless hours spent battling it out in the realm of digital cards, I must admit that the latest update, War of the Nine Realms, has been both exciting and frustrating. The addition of new characters like Frigga, Surtr, and Malekith has certainly added a fresh twist to the game, but the bugs and glitches that accompanied this update have left me longing for the days when the game ran smoothly.

Stepping into the latest season of Marvel Snap, War of the Nine Realms, I’m finding myself right in the thick of the action with Asgardian heroes and villains taking center stage. Fresh faces like Frigga, Surtr, and Malekith are joining forces with the familiar ones such as Odin, Thor, Heimdall, and Jane Foster. The game is now a vibrant Norse-themed canvas, brimming with mythical characters.

Upon entering the game, players found that several seasonal challenges appeared incorrect. For instance, challenges like “Play 100 cards of cost 4” or “Move 75 cards” were unusual and not typical. After further investigation, it was discovered these challenges weren’t meant to be in the game. Fans expressed their concerns on the Marvel Snap social media platforms, and the developers swiftly addressed the issue with an acknowledging response, confirming everyone’s suspicions.

One user pointed out that the requirements for some challenges may have been mismatched, making a few Season Missions a complete drag, and others so easy to complete they might as well not even be in the game. Additionally, the XP value accumulated seemed off track too. It didn’t take long for Community Manager Griffin Bennet to confirm that things were out of sync.

“Yep, the Season Missions are not correct and we’re working on a fix. Not intended at all,” he said via Discord.

Although it may seem trivial at first glance, this issue carries significant weight. In a regular setup, each season consistently dishes out the same experience points (XP) per week, with slight variations occurring only if a month consists of four weeks or five. For instance, in a four-week month, the initial week of Season Missions should award 9000 XP. However, War of the Nine Realms’ missions total up to just 8000 XP, which is the standard for five-week months. This discrepancy means players will have to grind more to meet their goals, and given the demanding conditions attached to each mission, enjoyment can quickly dissipate.

At this moment, we don’t have an estimated time for resolving the issues. However, you can track updates by joining the game’s social media platforms or participating in the Discord community. The Discord server is brimming with news, tips, and special events, plus a dedicated section where developers answer questions about the game status. This gives players an opportunity to receive real-time updates and stay informed about any bugs or glitches without undue worry.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve got to admit that I’m hooked on Marvel Snap. Each week brings fresh cards to collect, regular balance adjustments to keep things fair, and a gameplay rhythm that’s hard to resist. It’s no wonder why it stands out as one of the best digital card game experiences out there today.

For newcomers to the game Snap, the War of the Nine Realms serves as an excellent starting point (after the Season Missions have been rectified). The free tier of the Season Pass is already packed with sufficient rewards to help you progress smoothly through the initial levels. If you choose to invest $9.99 in the Premium track, you’ll immediately acquire Surtur for your collection, which will provide a significant advantage when constructing your deck. Successfully completing the Season Pass will grant you access to Andrea Guardino’s famous artwork depicting Surtur, along with several mystery card variants, booster packs, and a Thor variant created by the same artist.
