Marvel TV Exec Responds to Krysten Ritter’s Calls for More Jessica Jones

As a long-time fan who has witnessed the rise and fall of the Marvel Netflix universe, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation that’s reminiscent of the thrill I felt during the first season of Daredevil. The prospect of Jessica Jones, played brilliantly by Krysten Ritter, rejoining the Marvel Cinematic Universe has me more excited than a cat on a hot tin roof!

In a thrilling turn of events, the Marvel heroes within Netflix’s realm have embarked on a path of reclamation, as Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio resurface in the Marvel Cinematic Universe once more. Jon Bernthal is set to make his comeback on screen in Daredevil: Born Again. Now, Marvel enthusiasts eagerly await the return of characters from other Defenders series, hoping they too will have their moment. The actors associated with these roles are equally intrigued by this possibility.

Krysten Ritter, known for her role as Jessica Jones in the Marvel universe on Netflix, has expressed her readiness for a return, following her interview about “Sonic the Hedgehog 3”. During this interview, it was mentioned that Marvel TV executive Brad Winderbaum wishes to see Jessica Jones transition from the Netflix Marvel realm into the MCU.

Ritter responded enthusiastically, “Brad Winderbaum mentioned something? That’s fantastic news! Aren’t you the one who takes charge? Ritter here, let’s dive right in! Let’s start already, I’m all set!

A week after talking to Winderbaum about Marvel’s What If…?, we passed on Ritter’s remarks to the head of Marvel Studios Television. While Winderbaum was typically secretive about the future of Jessica Jones in the MCU, he did hint that Ritter’s detective character is high on his list of desired characters for future appearances in the franchise.

According to Winderbaum, “I adore Jessica Jones. It stands out as one of my favorite shows from Netflix’s collection. She truly brings the character to life in a way no one else can. Can you imagine how fantastic it would be to have her return and watch her on screen once more?

Throughout the years, it’s been clear that Winderbaum has harbored a deep affection for Jessica Jones. In his latest public appearance at the D23 fan expo in Brazil, he was asked which Netflix character he’d most like to see transition to the MCU. Without missing a beat, Winderbaum enthusiastically responded, “Jessica Jones, absolutely.

It’s been quiet regarding the future of Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and other Defenders show characters. When Daredevil: Born Again starts streaming on Disney+ in March, fans will be eagerly watching for any appearances by these other superheroes. Since Matt Murdock is expected to encounter characters like Frank Castle, Wilson Fisk, and Bullseye, it’s possible that he could also meet up with some of his old allies.

We’ll have to wait until March to see if any more Defenders are joining the MCU.
