As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the recent phenomenon of Marvel Vs Capcom 2 players refunding the game due to Justin Wong is both amusing and somewhat predictable.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 players refund the game after being smashed by pro Justin Wong.

Many players have admitted online to refunding the game because of the Evo champion.

But is this really because of Mr. Wong, or is something else wrong with the game state?

Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Players Refund After Encountering Justin Wong

The Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection, which hit shelves not long ago, has been receiving favorable feedback across various gaming platforms. Numerous gamers have relished the opportunity to revisit the timeless charm of Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

Imagine this scenario: You’ve spent $50 on a game, and after a tiring day at work, you look forward to unwinding with it in your spare time. When you fire up the quick match multiplayer mode of MVC2, instead, you encounter the formidable player known as Justin Wong, or “Wazzler”.

In my own words, I’d say: “Then, I find myself in an endless loop of being defeated, a situation that, luckily for most, seldom occurs. However, I’ve noticed that many players on Steam reviews and social media platforms haven’t had the chance to encounter this yet.

At its highest point, the game simultaneously hosted approximately 2000 players across Steam and various other platforms. Fortunately, the game does not support crossplay, ensuring that the players are secure for now.

However, just because you might not encounter the 7-time MVC-2 champion doesn’t guarantee that you won’t come across them in the game. Some Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 players have returned the game due to this issue and others.

While it’s important to note that this might not apply to most gamers, it’s quite amusing to see so many who have actually engaged in this activity. In fact, even well-known gamer Justin Wong is concerned that Capcom could potentially take notice of this trend.

I’d counter that many players have experience with Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, including perhaps this individual. Yet, it’s also possible for someone new to the game to find themselves competing against the champion without realizing it.

From 2001 to 2010, Justin Wong consistently ranked among the top 3 competitors in every MVC2 Evo tournament. So if you happen to lose to Wazzler, don’t let it get you down.

Other Issues Causing Refunds

Indeed, Justin Wong isn’t the sole factor causing players to seek refunds for the game. Instead, some players have identified a recurring mathematical error that’s impacted the launch. Notably, Capcom acknowledges this problem and is working on a solution to rectify it in due time.

Also, this seems to only be the case for PC players, while console players are doing fine.

It appears that other users have also noticed a minor delay in responding to inputs within the game. This lag can vary from one frame (AGA) to as much as three frames on certain gaming platforms. However, many of these issues seem to be resolved by making simple adjustments such as disabling Gsync.

Additionally, despite some issues, the game has been generally well-received across all platforms, earning positive feedback. Notably, it offers robust adaptations of these games.

  • XMEN CHILDREN OF THE ATOM
  • Marvel Super Heroes
  • X-MEN VS. STREET FIGHTER
  • Marvel SUPER HEROES vs. STREET FIGHTER
  • M vs. CAPCOM CLASH OF SUPER HEROES
  • MARVEL vs. CAPCOM 2: New Age of Heroes
  • THE PUNISHER

To put it frankly, what truly captivates us is the nostalgia of Marvel vs. Capcom 1 and 2. Some players have requested refunds for now, but once they delve into the game, they’re likely to continue playing and find they won’t be overwhelmed by Wong.
