Marvel vs. Capcom Collection Hits Xbox Today!

During their latest presentation, Capcom mainly highlighted Monster Hunter Wilds and Onimusha, but they also announced that Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics will debut on Xbox systems starting next Tuesday.

As I type this now, the game isn’t visible on the Xbox Store just yet. It might be due to some time needed for it to fully appear and be ready for purchase.

The Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics initially debuted on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in September 2024, leaving out Xbox users. This led to speculations about why the game was bypassing Xbox as its platform. Later, Capcom clarified that the collection would become available on Xbox in 2025 following talks with the Xbox teams regarding technical aspects.

Moving forward, it seems like the enjoyment of gathering won’t cease just yet, as Capcom has announced the upcoming release of Capcom Fighting Collection 2, scheduled for May 16, 2025. You can take a look at the preorder trailer down below:

The second installment of Capcom Fighting Collection will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC (Windows), and Nintendo Switch. Additionally, you can enjoy playing it on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 as a result of backward compatibility.

Having invested countless hours into Monster Hunter: World, I’m thrilled to see this game expand upon all the elements that made its predecessor great. Moreover, Street Fighter 6 is expanding its roster tomorrow, as Mai Shiranui joins the fighting fray.

In 2026, another Onimusha game is planned, and development is ongoing for Okami’s sequel. This means there’s lots to anticipate from Capcom in the near future. However, I can’t help but wonder when we might catch a glimpse of Resident Evil 9. It’s been nearly two years since the release of the Resident Evil 4 Remake, making it the longest wait for a new Resident Evil game so far…
