Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection Release Date Possibly Revealed

As a long-time fan of Capcom and Marvel, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming release of “Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics”. It’s been a while since we’ve had a taste of these iconic fighting games, and the prospect of reliving those glorious arcade days is almost too much to bear!

It appears that the release of Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, scheduled for this year, doesn’t have a definitive date announced by Capcom yet. However, a possible release date might have been leaked through Shopto. The retailer initially listed November 22nd as the game’s release date, which was later changed to “release date to be confirmed.” This information was shared online by @Wario64 before the page update. Keep in mind that this could be subject to change, but let’s hope Capcom confirms this leak soon!

During a Nintendo Direct presentation in June, the compilation titled Marvel vs. Capcom: Arcade Classics Fighting Collection was unveiled. This collection, releasing on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Steam, is packed with most of Capcom’s Marvel fighting games. Players can relish the arcade versions of popular titles such as X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, and Marvel vs. Capcom. Aside from these original arcade games, the collection offers additional features like concept art from the development process. This not only provides a behind-the-scenes look but also reveals character designs that didn’t make it into these games, such as one for Cyclops!

Since the launch of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite in 2017, there’s been a noticeable absence of Capcom’s Marvel crossovers. However, hints suggest that this could pave the way for a new game within the series. During an interview with Dexerto last month, producer Shuhei Matsumoto mentioned a potential opportunity for a fresh Marvel vs. Capcom title. While it may take some time, Matsumoto added that the compilation will give new players a chance to experience all the series has to offer.

Few games consisting of older content are typically among the most eagerly awaited releases in a given year, but Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics seems to be an exception. It’s been quite some time since these games were available on consoles, and while the release date of November 22nd might not hold, it’s unlikely we’ll have to wait much longer given how quickly the year is drawing to a close.
