Marvel’s Gods Clash: Miles Morales in the Eye of the Storm

A conflict is approaching in the Marvel Universe, and it seems that Miles Morales, our unconventional Spider-Man, is right in the thick of things. Lately, Miles has been keeping quite busy as a web-slinger. First, he was bitten by a vampire during Marvel’s Blood Hunt event, which led him to seek assistance from Black Panther. Fortunately, T’Challa managed to rid Miles of his vampirism. However, their journey to Wakanda for answers revealed that Miles had been chosen as the herald of the spider-God Anansi. So, our friendly-neighborhood Spider-Man has taken a supernatural turn and is now on the verge of dealing with divine matters. Spoiler alert: The events of Miles Morales: Spider-Man #32 are discussed below.

As a dedicated moviegoer, let me share my excitement about diving into Miles Morales: Spider-Man #32! This thrilling issue is orchestrated by Cody Ziglar, Marco Renna, Bryan Valenza, and VC’s Cory Petit. Kickstarting the “God War” saga, you’re already in for a rollercoaster ride of action and drama.

In this installment, we encounter the first divine character, Zip Zephyr, the esteemed Grand Scion of Anemoi and master of Air. Caught in The Raft, he’s grappling with the circumstances that led him there. Our tale takes an intriguing turn when Ares, the God of War, pays a visit. He presents Zephyr with a proposition: if our air-wielding hero agrees to join Ares’ War Dogs and eliminate Spider-Man, he’ll bestow upon Zephyr godly powers and all the perks that come along.

Now, I can’t wait to see how this epic confrontation unfolds!

Of course, Zephyr harnesses and employs his divine gusts to break free from The Raft. Later, at school, Miles encounters Anansi, the spider deity, who forewarns him of impending trouble. Thus, our epic clash between gods commences!

It’s Team Miles Morales vs. Team Ares

Zephyr employs his gusts to track down Miles Morales, and he even assaults Miles during his school lesson. As Zephyr seemed to gain control over Miles, who was on the verge of fainting, a flash of thunder and lightning signaled the arrival of Thor and Hercules. Anansi dispatched Thor and Hercules during the fight, and it seems they arrived in the nick of time to intervene. Ares and Anansi have a deep-rooted conflict, and Miles has unwittingly become entangled in it.

One team consists of Miles Morales, Thor, and Hercules, while their opponents are Ares, Zip Zephyr, and War-Cry (also known as Agent Gao). Ares has bestowed godhood upon Agent Gao. The gods are preparing for a tournament, which is significant because the agreement between Olympus and Vodu was dissolved following the destruction of Olympus in ‘Avengers: No Road Home’.

In the upcoming installments of “Miles Morales: Spider-Man”, hints suggest the arrival of additional demigod characters. Joining War-Cry, we’ll encounter Philomelus, a demigod associated with the earth, and Pyrrah, a water-related demigoddess. Also, writer Cody Ziglar has shared on social media that Miles’ therapist, Dr. Keisha Kwan, is set to transform into a Hulk-like character called Powerlift. This means Dr. Kwan will shift from providing mental support to assisting Miles physically with her enhanced strength. The storyline for Miles Morales continues to take unexpected turns as we eagerly await the outcome of “God War”.

This past year has been a tumultuous one for Miles Morales. He was transformed into a vampire, journeyed to Wakanda, and assumed the role of a spider-god’s herald. Currently, he finds himself embroiled in a conflict he didn’t seek out. However, he benefits from some powerful allies, such as demigods Thor and Hercules, who are members of the Avengers. Ares has not been spotted since his attempt to defeat Punisher, who allied with The Hand and became the embodiment of the Beast. We shall see if Ares’ confrontation with Spider-Man proves more favorable for him.
