As a longtime fan of Insomniac Games and Spider-Man, I must confess that the news about the lack of new story content for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has left me feeling a bit swingless. After the thrilling journey through New York City in the first game and the tantalizing teaser of what’s to come with the sequel, it’s a bit disheartening to hear that there are no new tales to unravel.
It appears that the significant ransomware attack on Insomniac Games last December seemed to reveal some information about future projects at the studio, including potential post-launch strategies for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. However, according to the developer themselves, there are currently no such plans underway.
It was just announced that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be available on PC. In the blog post announcing this, Insomniac Games mentioned that there won’t be any new story content added to the game, but they assured fans that all previously released updates for the game will be included in the PC version.
Regarding Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the developers shared that they currently don’t have any new story content in the works, but they are excited to transfer all the previously released additional content to its PC version.
According to the previously mentioned leak, Insomniac supposedly had plans for the game after its launch, which included releasing three DLC packs in 2024 at no cost, and a remastered version of the game called the Game of the Year Edition. Whether or not these plans were ever definitive is uncertain.
As previously announced, Insomniac Games has confirmed that the Fit N’ Fresh Suit Pack DLC they released in partnership with Gameheads for their PS5 game earlier in the year will indeed become accessible to everyone at no cost come October, as initially pledged.
