Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has recently become available on PC, about a year after its highly praised PS5 release. However, it seems that several Steam users have encountered problems such as crashes, freezes, and various other issues (not ideal). Despite this or perhaps because of insufficient promotion before the launch, the open-world game attracted 18,907 concurrent players.
Compared to Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (which peaked at 13,539 simultaneous players) and Days Gone on PC (which peaked at 27,450), the game is higher but still lower than Days Gone. It’s also significantly behind Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered’s peak of 66,436 players. However, it might improve over the weekend. On a positive note, its launch performance is far better than LEGO Horizon Adventures, which had just 602 simultaneous players at launch.
At present, neither Insomniac Games nor Nixxes have spoken about ongoing problems with the PC release, so keep an eye out for further announcements. While rumors hinted at post-release DLC, Insomniac clarified that no additional story content is currently planned.
