Marvel’s Ultimates 3.0 Unveiled with Fan-Favorite Heroes

Tony Stark, also known as Iron Lad, assured the latest Ultimates team six months after his father, Howard Stark/Iron Man, was imprisoned in the City with the Maker. The squad – Asgardians Thor and Sif, World War II super soldier Steve Rogers/Captain America, and Reed Richards/Doom, the sole survivor of the Fantastic Four – had a span of two years to rectify the world before the Maker, Reed’s evil counterpart from the old Ultimate Universe, would be set free from his confinement.

As a film enthusiast, I embarked on a journey using the Maker’s blueprints to construct the Ultimate Network – a covert alliance of superheroes aimed at altering the world shaped by the Maker, leveraging his time machine, the Immortus Engine. Pondering over four dimensions, we initiated the development of the Ultimates 1.0 five months ago, but faced some catastrophic outcomes. Consequently, I decided to abandon time travel and progressed to the Ultimates 2.0, who have been given 18 months to make their impact.

The storyline of Deniz Camp and Juan Frigeri’s Ultimates comic series has been unfolding in sync with real life since its release in June 2024, and as we reached issue #11 in April, there are only seven months left before the Maker comes back.

Previously, Stark had given “origin kits” to characters such as Spider-Man (Peter Parker) and Luke Cage (Carl Lucas). These kits played a significant role in shaping the paths they would have followed if not for the Maker’s intervention. Over the past 11 months, The Ultimates have brought aboard heroes like Hawkeye (Charli Ramsey), She-Hulk (Lejori Joena Zakaria), Giant-Man (Hank Pym), Wasp (Janet van Dyne), the Human Torch (Jim Hammond), and America Chavez to their team.

In the latest issue 11, the Ultimates have found themselves in a confrontation with various entities such as the Maker’s Council, the Hulk’s Immortal Weapons, Captain Britain, and agents of H.A.N.D., along with the Grand Skull and the Red Skulls. However, they are now dealing with a dire situation: At the end of Ultimates #11, Doom revealed a chilling vision of a future where the reformed Ultimates 2.0 meet their untimely demise at the hands of the Hulk.

Following my intense tussle with the Hulk in our last encounter (back in Ultimates #6), my subsequent journey has taken an unprecedented turn. As Marvel.com reports, the reverberations of this event have significantly altered my course, raising questions about whether this new path is leading me towards a brighter or darker future for both myself and the Ultimates. The intrigue lies in determining which it may be.

Starting with issue #13 of The Ultimates in June, the team enters their second year, with half a year left until the Maker’s return. In this new phase, the team will undergo an update and become known as Ultimates 3.0.

As a passionate moviegoer diving into the latest comic book updates, let me tell you about the upcoming chapter – Ultimates 3.0. Alas, I’d rather leave the nitty-gritty details for the actual book, but trust me when I say that this new installment brings significant shifts for every team member and even the fundamental workings of the Ultimates. The narrative carries an undeniable sense of urgency, as the clock is ticking.

In issue #14 of the Ultimates series, we’ll meet the Ultimate versions of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, along with another character who has connections to the Hellfire Club. It’s unclear if this character is Emma Frost herself or a different iteration of her within the new Ultimate Universe.

Just as expected, bringing in fresh characters is a key aspect of our ongoing series,” the creator hinted playfully. “We’ve already unveiled the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, but another beloved character will show up in that very issue. Future issues will introduce both renowned figures and lesser-known ones. Moreover, we’ll witness several villains and extreme groups from our series reemerge, as well as a plethora of mind-blowing concepts and groundbreaking alterations in Year Two.

“Remember,” Camp added. “This is a rescue mission.
