As a die-hard fan, I was hoping to get my hands on Marvel’s Wolverine and Intergalactic this fiscal year, but it seems that won’t be the case. Initially, these two exciting titles were included in the “Upcoming” section of Sony’s annual tentpole single-player releases during their Business Segment Presentation and Fireside Chat. However, it appears they have been delayed for now.
This year, two highly anticipated games – Sucker Punch Productions’ “Ghost of Yōtei” and Kojima Productions’ “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach” are slated for release, both coming out before March 31st, 2026. However, it’s important to note that no definitive dates have been announced yet for games like “Intergalactic” or “Marvel’s Wolverine”, so a launch in fiscal year 2027 is not guaranteed. Previously, Jason Schreier of Bloomberg reported that Naughty Dog’s sci-fi action title would not be released in 2026.
According to Neil Druckmann, President of Naughty Dog, he’s currently involved in producing an unnamed project that hasn’t been announced yet. If it’s set for release towards the end of next year, we might get an official update on this new title within the upcoming months.
For now, “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach” is set to release on June 26th for PlayStation 5, and “Ghost of Yōtei” follows suit on October 2nd. More details about the latter will be revealed next month.
