As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of immersion in the vast expanse of digital worlds, I can’t help but feel a pang of sadness as I hear about Humanoid Origin’s untimely closure. The studio, led by none other than Casey Hudson, the mastermind behind the iconic Mass Effect trilogy, held the promise of a new, character-driven sci-fi universe that would have surely captivated us all.
🚨 BREAKING: Trump's Tariffs May Rock EUR/USD!
Shocking new analysis predicts massive volatility ahead. Markets brace for impact!
View Urgent ForecastThe studio known as Humanoid Origin, established by Casey Hudson – the director of the Mass Effect trilogy – who revealed back in March 2022 that they were developing a “AAA game for multiple platforms” with a heavy emphasis on storytelling through character development within a brand-new science fiction setting, has announced it will be closing down, according to a post made on LinkedIn.
Earlier today, we shared with our team that Humanoid Origin is closing down. Despite our attempts to safeguard the studio from the broader struggles within the industry, an unforeseen lack of financial resources forced us into this decision, making it impossible for us to continue operating.
It’s deeply disappointing that we won’t finish crafting our fresh sci-fi universe, but right now, our priority lies with our team. We’re dedicated to assisting them during their job change process.
Headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Humanoid Origin aspires to transform into a company that will foster and empower developers’ creativity.
