Massive DC Cameo Coming in Peacemaker Season 2 – Who Will It Be?

As James Gunn reveals, DC enthusiasts are in for a significant surprise during Season 2 of “Peacemaker.” After a three-year gap since the series initially premiered on Max, the long wait for more episodes is nearly at an end. However, this time around, the John Cena-led show will be part of the fresh DC Universe that Gunn is spearheading. In preparation, audiences can enjoy the adult-animated series “Creature Commandos” and the upcoming live-action “Superman” movie. With these two projects as a prelude, fans of “Peacemaker” should anticipate appearances from multiple characters. But it seems that Gunn has an even more intriguing surprise planned, as a mysterious character is set to make a cameo in “Peacemaker.

Entertainment Weekly had a conversation with James Gunn on upcoming Season 2 of ‘Peacemaker’, where he shared tantalizing hints and details about what we can expect in the second season, while keeping most secrets under wraps. Intriguingly, Gunn made some interesting remarks concerning potential guest stars from the Superman universe.

In the first season of Peacemaker, you were introduced to a device known as the Quantum Unfolding Chamber or QUC. This technology will be further explored in Superman, as confirmed by Gunn during an interview with EW. In the second season of Peacemaker, the QUC takes center stage. Characters from Superman such as Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, and Sean Gunn are expected to appear, along with other characters from various parts of the DCU and Superman. There might even be a significant cameo towards the end of the show from someone very famous in the DC Universe.

When thinking about cameos that might generate such anticipation, David Corenswet’s Superman is the first name that springs to mind. In the final episode of Peacemaker, both Flash (played by Ezra Miller) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa) made appearances, with the rest of the Justice League remaining in the background. The Justice League appeared only after Peacemaker and the 11th Street Gang had successfully thwarted the Butterflies’ threat. Given Peacemaker‘s strong link to Superman, it seems logical for Superman to make a cameo and offer some words of encouragement to John Cena.

Additionally, it’s plausible that Nicholas Hoult’s portrayal of Lex Luthor might find Peacemaker intriguing. Luthor is known for his cunning plans to outmaneuver Superman, and he may perceive Peacemaker as a means to further his objectives. At the same time, Peacemaker grapples with feelings of disrespect from the metahuman community, and Luthor could potentially exploit these vulnerabilities.

In the second season, it’s clear that Peacemaker has successfully prevented the Butterflies from destroying the world. According to Gunn, he believes he’s a major star now and deserves to be a true superhero. The story starts in episode 1 where we see him trying out for a team of superheroes, specifically those from Superman’s group. However, during his interview, they constantly mock him, which means he’s not taken seriously by them.

Afterward, Gunn delved into the fact that Peacemaker will grapple with these emotions throughout the series. “He’s viewed as a joke by all other metahumans, so he begins the season in a difficult situation,” he explained. “Our heroes, including the 11th Street gang – everyone except Vigilante [Freddie Stroma], who always seems to handle everything with ease.
