As a long-time fan of MasterChef, I must admit I’m a bit taken aback by the recent developments surrounding Gregg Wallace. However, I believe in the principles of fairness and due process, and I trust that the ongoing investigation will bring clarity to the situation.

View Urgent ForecastDespite the recent announcement that Gregg Wallace is temporarily stepping back from MasterChef due to an ongoing investigation into past misconduct claims, it’s expected that the two upcoming holiday-themed episodes will still be broadcasted as scheduled.
According to the BBC, all pre-recorded episodes of MasterChef will be broadcast as scheduled, and there are two unique editions planned for the holiday season.
As a cinephile, I’m eagerly anticipating two shows airing on BBC One this season. First up is a festive spin-off of Celebrity MasterChef titled “Celebrity MasterChef Christmas Cook Off.” This delightful event will bring together Amy Walsh from Emmerdale, comedian Shazia Mirza, reality star Luca Bish, and The Wanted’s very own Max George. All four have previously graced our screens on the show in 2023, so it’ll be interesting to see them back in the kitchen!
The event will be known as MasterChef Collides with Strictly Festive Spectacle, and it will feature Amy Dowden, Gorka Marquez, Kai Widdrington, and Nancy Xu from Strictly Come Dancing participating. Motsi Mabuse will assign them a challenge for one of the tasks.
During the holiday season, these exclusive shows will be broadcast, and the already scheduled pre-recorded episodes of MasterChef: The Professionals (which includes Wallace) will carry on as originally intended.
I, as a fervent supporter, firmly assert that the allegations against Wallace regarding any form of sexual harassment are entirely unfounded. As a chef and broadcasting figure, I am pleased to share that he is actively cooperating with an investigation initiated by Banijay UK, the production company behind MasterChef.
In response to unspecified complaints, Banijay UK has decided to initiate a swift, independent investigation, as they believe it’s essential to thoroughly examine the allegations, even though the complainants haven’t personally brought these issues up with the show producers or Banijay UK itself.
During the ongoing review, Gregg Wallace has decided to temporarily step back from his position on MasterChef. He remains dedicated to cooperating fully during the entire process.
At Banijay UK, we consistently prioritize the well-being of our team members. The conduct standards for both cast and crew are always explicitly communicated across all our productions. We ensure that several avenues for expressing concerns are easily accessible, even anonymously, with these channels clearly marked on set for everyone’s peace of mind.
Although these accusations stem from the past, any instances that come to our notice where such expectations aren’t fulfilled are thoroughly examined and dealt with in an appropriate manner.
Feel free to reach out to us at speakupbanijayuk.com if you have anything you’d like to discuss privately, whether it be questions, problems, or just general feedback.
A representative from BBC stated, “We give careful consideration to any concerns brought to our attention, and we have strong procedures to handle such matters. We make it unequivocally clear that actions that fail to meet our high standards will not be accepted.
If an individual works directly for an outside production company, we’ll pass on any issues or worries to them and are ready to help in resolving these matters together.
