Maya Rudolph Returns to Saturday Night Live to Play Kamala Harris for 2024 Presidential Election

As a longtime SNL enthusiast and someone who can still vividly recall the thrill of the 2020 election cycle, I am absolutely ecstatic to see Maya Rudolph reprise her role as Kamala Harris for the upcoming season! With Jim Carrey’s Biden already in tow, it feels like we’re taking a trip down memory lane.

I can hardly contain my excitement as I look forward to Saturday Night Live bringing back the talented Maya Rudolph to reprise her role as Presidential nominee Kamala Harris in the upcoming 2024 campaign! As the nation prepares for the final round, SNL is smartly cashing in on the buzz and curiosity by welcoming a cherished returning cast member. Rudolph’s portrayal of “Mamala” was always a highlight, especially when she joined forces with Jim Carrey’s Joe Biden during the 2020 election season. Rudolph even earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her spot-on depiction of Senator Kamala Harris on SNL in 2020! I can hardly wait to see what she brings to the table this time around!

As a gamer, I just heard some exciting news from Deadline! They reported that Maya Rudolph will be returning to Saturday Night Live, and it looks like pre-production on her Apple TV+ comedy series, Loot, has been temporarily halted so she can prepare for SNL. Originally, they were supposed to start filming Season 3 of Loot on August 26th. Apparently, the cast and crew have been informed that production has been postponed due to scheduling issues. Rudolph is both a star and an executive producer in this Apple TV+ comedy series, so let’s hope we get to see more of it soon!

Saturday Night Live is preparing for its 50th season on September 28th.

Sony Pictures has unveiled the official title for the biopic of Saturday Night Live, directed by Jason Reitman. Titled simply as Saturday Night, it will hit theaters on October 11th through Columbia Pictures. Interestingly, October 11th is the same day as when the iconic comedy show first aired, making it an apt date for its 50th season this autumn.
