Mayfair Witches: Harry Hamlin Teases Cortland's Fate in Season 2

As a fan who has been enthralled by the supernatural twists and turns of Mayfair Witches since its inception, I eagerly await the return of Cortland Mayfair, played masterfully by Harry Hamlin, in Season 2. His manipulative charm and cunning wit have kept me on the edge of my seat, and I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation as we delve deeper into his character’s strange and intriguing journey.

At the culmination of the first season of ‘Mayfair Witches’, Cortland Mayfair (played by Harry Hamlin) faced consequences for his actions as Rowan opted not to kill him, but rather transformed him into stone. However, a sneak peek for Season 2 of the AMC show hints that Cortland’s stony state might not last forever – and as Hamlin shared with Collider, things are bound to get quite strange for Cortland in the upcoming season. In Hamlin’s words, Cortland manages to escape his predicament, but there are plenty more twists and turns ahead for his character.

“I find my way out and then a lot of very, very weird things happen to Cortland,” Hamlin explained.

“My father is a new cast member, Ted Levine, who was Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs and is an extraordinary actor,” he continued, referencing the addition of Levine’s Julian Mayfair. “I mean, watch out because it’s crazy.”

Previously, Hamlin had a conversation with ComicBook towards the end of Season 1. During this chat, he hinted that Cortland usually obtains whatever he desires, and even then, he expressed that regardless of how Cortland’s stone predicament was resolved, it would be “fascinating.”

Hamlin shared with ComicBook his belief that Cortland consistently achieves his goals, even playing a long game. However, he encounters an unexpected challenge when diagnosed with ALS, a condition that is essentially a death sentence for him. Consequently, he strikes a deal with Lasher in hopes of being cured. Cortland is indeed a master manipulator, and he manages to control the group of women around him using skills honed over his lifetime. Despite appearing to be victorious at the end of the episode, there’s a sense of fear in him, as he remains frozen yet conscious, unsure if he will regain movement again in the future. The specifics of how this predicament will be resolved are unclear, but Hamlin is confident it will be an exciting turn of events.
