As a long-time comic book fan and collector, I’m thrilled to my core by McFarlane Toys‘ latest collaboration with Marvel! I remember staying up late pouring over those iconic covers from Jim Lee, Steve Ditko, John Romita Jr., Rob Liefeld, and Todd McFarlane himself. Each one transported me into a world of superheroes and epic adventures that fueled my imagination for hours on end.

In May, Todd McFarlane unveiled McFarland Toys’ initial partnership with Marvel to ComicBook, and it’s now ready for you to place your pre-orders. This collection offers posed figures in 1:10 and 1:6 scales, inspired by renowned Marvel comic cover art from artists such as Jim Lee, Steve Ditko, John Romita Jr., Rob Liefeld, and Todd McFarlane himself.

The initial release of 1:6 scale collectible figures is influenced by Todd McFarlane’s renowned artwork depicting Spider-Man and Captain America on the covers of Amazing Spider-Man #301 and The Amazing Spider-Man #323. Each figure comes with an environmental base, a diorama backdrop, a reprinted comic book, and an art card. The cost for these figures has yet to be announced, but more information will be disclosed when they become available on July 18th at 9am PT / 12pm ET, exclusively at Entertainment Earth and Amazon. You can find additional 1:10 scale figures within those links as well.

McFarlane had the following to say to ComicBook about the future of the lineup:

McFarlane expressed fondness for certain friends from his childhood, mentioning Jim Lee and Rob Liefeld specifically. In the initial series, he plans to pay tribute to their significant contributions during their formative years in the industry.

McFarlane expressed his desire to pay tribute to George Perez and John Byrne, who greatly influenced him. However, he acknowledged that there is a new generation of artists who may not be familiar with these figures. Instead, he plans to focus on the current talents, considering their preferences for interior or cover art and delivering accordingly.
