Meagan Good Reveals Jonathan Majors Taught Her Unconditional Love

Meagan Good has gathered some major life lessons from fiancé Jonathan Majors.

The well-known celebrity from Harlem, who revealed her engagement to a former cast member of “Lovecraft Country” in November, openly discussed how their relationship has affected her personally.

In an interview published on January 22nd, she shared with Ebony that her relationship has shown her what true, unconditional love entails. It’s about being cherished for your entire self, and loving someone who helps bring out your best qualities.

As a devoted admirer, let me tell you, Meagan, aged 43, shared her feelings about Jonathan, 35, saying their relationship has been nothing short of an extraordinary voyage. Every moment of it is held close to my heart.

The pair crossed paths for the first time at the Power 100 Gala held in October 2022, and by May of the following year, they had made their relationship official. However, the actress, who was previously wed to DeVon Franklin from 2012 until 2022, immediately felt a strong bond upon their initial encounter.

Two years from then, I never imagined we’d be engaged, but that day changed everything for us,” she excitedly revealed.

The romantic gestures between the duo began during a challenging phase for Jonathan, as he faced charges for alleged assault against his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in March 2023. Despite claiming his innocence, he was eventually convicted of misdemeanor assault and harassment. As per NBC News, he received a sentence of 52 weeks of mandatory counseling sessions and a fine of $250.

Nevertheless, even with his ongoing legal issues, the leading actor of Creed III acknowledged that his fiancee played an essential role in being a pillar of his support network.

In an interview with Good Morning America in January 2024, he expressed his gratitude after the verdict, saying, “I feel incredibly fortunate. I’m surrounded by people who care deeply for me. However, this journey has been extremely challenging, complicated, and confusing at times. But I’m managing to persevere.

Jonathan added, “It’s just me now, you know, and my lovely partner, Meagan, and my dogs.”

Three months following the divorce of Meagan Good and producer DeVon Franklin, she attended the 2022 EBONY Power 100 gala. It was at this event where she encountered her future fiancé, Jonathan Majors. The actress later revealed to TopMob News’ Francesca Amiker during a subsequent visit to the same event two years later that it was in the bathroom where they first crossed paths. “Yes, the EBONY Power 100 is where we met,” she said, “specifically in the unisex restroom.” While Good admitted to People at the time that there was immediate chemistry between them, she also confessed she wasn’t quite ready for a new relationship. However, they reconnected approximately four months later, and Good felt certain their connection would develop further, as it ultimately did.

It wasn’t until May 2023 that rumors surfaced about them dating. This news emerged just two months after Majors was detained in New York for accusations of harassment and assault related to a domestic dispute with Grace Jabbari, who turned out to be his ex-girlfriend. However, Majors denied these allegations, with his lawyer stating to NBC News in March 2023 that he is completely innocent.

In June 2023, Majors attended a court appearance, and it was decided that their trial would take place in August. As they exited the courtroom, Good stayed by his side and held his hand.

During the trial, which was initially set for August 2023 but later rescheduled for November of the same year, Cousin Skeeter’s alum stood by the actor from Lovecraft Country. Majors pleaded not guilty to his accusations.

According to the Associated Press, Jabbari was taken into custody in October 2023 on charges of assault and criminal mischief following Majors’ claims that she had attacked him. However, these charges were dropped the next day. Doug Cohen, spokesperson for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, informed the outlet that the office “decided not to pursue this case against Grace Jabbari as it lacked substantial evidence.”

Jabbari’s lawyer, Ross Kramer, told the AP that the DA’s office had examined all the facts of the case and concluded that Jabbari was actually the victim instead of the perpetrator. He added that the arrest had been unfortunate and re-traumatizing.

Meanwhile, Majors’ attorney, Dustin Pusch, told NBC News that it was unjust for the District Attorney to persist with their case against him.

In December 2023, Majors was convicted on charges of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment. However, he was acquitted on another charge of third-degree assault and a charge of aggravated harassment.

In a January 2024 interview with ABC News, the actor from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, who was terminated by Marvel following the verdict, expressed his shock and fear. He stated, “I couldn’t believe it when the verdict was announced. I said to myself, ‘How could this be possible given the evidence, even considering the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence? How is this possible?'”

Majors also asserted in the interview that he has never struck a woman in his life.

In response to the interview, Brittany Henderson, Jabbari’s attorney, told ABC News, “The timing of these new statements shows a clear lack of remorse for the actions for which he was convicted and should make sentencing decisions straightforward for the court.”

Regarding his relationship with Good, Majors referred to her as an “angel” due to her support. He added, “I’m incredibly fortunate to have her. The relationship is still new, but I believe I’ve found her. I hope she’ll stay with me.

In March 2024, the couple, who were yet to publicly acknowledge their relationship, walked the red carpet together for the first time at the African American Film Critics Association Special Achievement Awards luncheon in Los Angeles. Later that month, during an interview with TopMob News at the NAACP Awards, Good confirmed Majors as his partner and revealed they were in love.

As reported by TopMob News, Majors stated that Good supports him, to which he responded, “I support her too.” In March 2024, Jabbari filed a lawsuit against Majors, accusing him of defamation, malicious prosecution, assault, and battery, claiming he had abused her during their relationship. His attorney mentioned they were preparing counterclaims against Jabbari.

However, in November 2024, the lawsuit was dropped by Jabbari. Court documents obtained by NBC News stated that all claims against Majors were dismissed with prejudice.

Approximately three months following his trial and conviction, Majors was given a sentence that included a 52-week counseling program and a fine of $250. Once again, Good demonstrated her backing for him as they walked towards the courthouse together.

As I stood on stage to receive the Perseverance Award at the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards, tears streamed down my face as I expressed my profound love for Good. I declared, “I love you unboundedly, with all my might, with every fiber of my being,” in a video posted by Chris Gardner from The Hollywood Reporter. I took a moment to recall the countless nights when Good supported me so tirelessly.

In a July 2024 episode of Today, when asked about navigating their relationship, she shared that their mutual support, care, respect, and thoughtfulness have been truly amazing. Despite advice from friends to wait until his court case was resolved, the Shazam! actress decided to listen to her heart instead.

In my personal journey, I find comfort in knowing that I can always gaze into the mirror and feel a sense of pride when I trust my inner self, my faith, and rely on divine guidance, while marching to the rhythm of my own heartbeat. No matter the circumstances, I maintain tranquility and harmony within myself.

Though I value the opinions of those I hold dear, ultimately it’s I who must live this life, and someday, hopefully, stand before God to explain my actions. It is essential for me to be accountable for the decisions I make, and strive to create a life that resonates with my deepest desires.

Two years since their initial encounter, Good unveiled her engagement to Majors at the 2024 Ebony Power 100 gala by showing off her ring for the first time.
