After the sad demise of Officer Benjamin Brice in the opening episode of Death in Paradise’s season 14, the Honoré Police Department found themselves understaffed.
In tonight’s episode, falling on Friday, 7th February, they required all the help they could get, since a game show contestant had been murdered and they were determined to crack the case.
Following Mervin bringing up the team’s issues with Selwyn, it turned out that Selwyn already had a potential pick in mind – Sebastian Rose.
Before Officer Brice, he finished the training program, but hadn’t secured a position yet. Now, he spends his days distributing flyers on the beach, donning a pineapple costume.
He wasn’t the person I initially wanted, but I believe there could be some promise in him with a little exploration.
With that, Sebastian Rose received his uniform, officially joining the team – though, Mervin made it clear, on a “temporary” status, as he remained skeptical about the latest addition to our group.
Similar to Selwyn, we are optimistic that he will establish a positive reputation and gain recognition for his commendable deeds.
Actor Shaquille Ali-Yebuah, aged 29 and hailing from Hammersmith, London, portrays Officer Sebastian Rose. You may recognize him from previous roles he has played.
For those who don’t recognize him yet or find it hard to pinpoint where they know him from, I’ve compiled a list showcasing some of his most distinguished works instead.
Who is Shaquille Ali-Yebuah, Death in Paradise’s new officer Sebastian Rose?
