2025 marks the arrival of the Eurovision Song Contest! This year, a grand total of 37 nations will step into the limelight, vying for the coveted title and bragging rights as champions in this legendary event.

Among those countries are Albania, who are being represented by electropop duo Shkodra Elektronike.

Shkodra Elektronike are an Albanian electropop duo consisting of Kolë Laca and Beatriçe Gjergji.

After the launch of “Ku e Gjeta Vedin” and “Synin si Qershia” in 2020, this pair gained popularity and has since played at various music festivals, as well as releasing their debut extended play (EP).

2024 saw the band participating in Song Festival 63, the yearly Albanian music contest that determines the nation’s representative at Eurovision. They emerged victorious with a total of 143 points.

What is Albania’s Eurovision 2025 song called?

Electronica Shkodra will be showcasing Albania’s talent in music with the song titled “Zjerm“. This composition is a collaboration between band member Beatrice Gjergji and Lek Gjeloshi.

The band shared with WiwiBloggs that they recently composed a tune which resonated with them, and an unexpected event transpired. They advised finding one’s own path in the creative process, avoiding imitation of others, and discovering one’s unique voice – emphasizing its significance.

Where did Albania place in the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest?

Last year, Albania didn’t make it to the final round, instead they ended up at position fifteen in the second semi-final.

The Eurovision Song Contest semifinals for the year 2025 will be held on two separate days: Tuesday, May 13th, and Thursday, May 15th. These events will broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 8pm each day.
