As a dedicated fan of British television, I must say that this current season of Tom Jones has been absolutely captivating! The cast is simply brilliant, and I find myself eagerly awaiting each new episode.
Initially, period drama Tom Jones premiered in the UK last year for streaming on ITVX. Now, however, the episodes will be broadcast on ITV1, thereby expanding the show’s reach to an even larger viewership.
This show is based on Henry Fielding’s 1749 novel “The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling,” and features Solly McLeod in the lead role. Alongside him, we have Sophie Wilde, known for her work in Talk to Me, and Hannah Waddingham from Ted Lasso.
The story revolves around Tom, an orphaned boy who was fortuitously found and nurtured by a noble country man. As he matures, Tom transforms into a charismatic, considerate individual who captivates many women.
