Mega Audino Joins Pokémon Go: The Countdown to Complete Mega Evolutions Begins!

In the primary Pokemon series, a total of 48 Mega Evolutions exist. So far, most of these have been incorporated into Pokemon Go, but a few notable exceptions remain. However, this count will decrease soon, as during an upcoming Raid Day event next month, Mega Audino will make its first appearance in the game. This Mega Evolution of Audino can be encountered in Mega Raids from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on April 5th. In a similar fashion to previous Raid Day events, Niantic is set to boost the Remote Raid limit to 20, beginning at 5 p.m. on April 4th and lasting until 8 p.m. Pacific Time on April 5th.

During Raid Day celebrations starting from April 5th, Audino will acquire a new Charged Attack in Pokemon Go – Moonblast. This Fairy-type move is set to become a formidable addition to Audino’s repertoire of moves. In Trainer Battles, Moonblast boasts a power level of 110, while it cranks up to 130 in Gyms and Raids. This makes Moonblast a more effective choice than Disarming Voice and Dazzling Gleam, and an ideal attack for taking down troublesome Dragon-type Pokemon.

At the gathering, participants may encounter Shiny Audino more frequently. Unlike regular ones that are pink, Shiny Audino has distinctive purple accents. However, when it undergoes Mega Evolution, the changes become less apparent. Even though there are some differences, they are quite subtle. The most significant distinction can be seen in Mega Audino’s eyes, which change from their usual pink to a striking yellow color.

As a passionate Pokemon Go player, I’m excited to share that Audino isn’t the sole Mega Evolution yet to join our game. After its debut, we can anticipate more to follow suit, such as Mega Sharpedo, Mega Camerupt, and both Mega Mewtwo X and Y. These are the remaining ones initially presented in Pokemon X and Y, along with Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Niantic has been strategic about releasing Mega Evolutions, but at this point, there aren’t many left to unveil.

There are currently 48 Mega Evolutions in the Pokemon series, but it’s possible that more will be added later this year, especially with the upcoming release of “Pokemon Legends: Z-A” scheduled for late 2025. This game focuses on the Kalos region from “Pokemon X and Y”. With a strong emphasis on Mega Evolutions this year across various platforms, including the Pokemon Trading Card Game, fans are eagerly anticipating new ones. However, The Pokemon Company has not yet announced any new Mega Evolutions. If “Pokemon Legends: Z-A” does indeed introduce new Mega Evolutions, they will likely also be incorporated into “Pokemon Go”.
