During her speech at the Afro Women and Power event on August 18th, she emphasized that her approach to situations is often less about fighting and more about filling spaces with love, kindness, and generosity.
In her own words, The Duchess of Sussex (mother of five-year-old Archie, alongside the Duke of Sussex) stated, “It’s the experiences that drive me. I understand the powerlessness when you don’t express yourself at crucial moments. I urge our little one, who has already discovered her voice at three years old, to keep doing so – we are incredibly proud of her.”
Additionally, Meghan clarified that the Archewell Foundation, which she and Harry established in 2020, aims at empowering and supporting women and children.
At a young age, I was privileged to experience having my voice recognized, which isn’t always possible for many young women. As part of our work with Archewell and as parents, we aim to ensure that every girl feels heard, while also teaching boys to listen to girls. She explained that Lili is very small compared to everyone here, as she’s only turning 3 years old. A few weeks ago, Lili looked at Meghan and saw her own reflection in Meghan’s eyes, and she said, “Mama, I see myself in you.”
