Meghan McCain is expanding her brood.
The popular TV host, who already has two daughters, Liberty Sage (4 years old) and Clover Jade (2 years old), with her husband Ben Domenech, recently announced that they are expecting their third child. She made this announcement during an interview with Vice President JD Vance’s wife, Usha Vance.
Meghan revealed a personal matter in a sneak peek of her upcoming 2Way’s Citizen McCain podcast episode, due out June 25. She confided that she is expecting her third child, and her two daughters are nearly five and three years old, with her being in the second trimester of pregnancy.
For Meghan, the news of her third pregnancy brings “nerves,” since they are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their firstborn son.
She openly confessed that she feels quite anxious about the prospect of having a son, and she also expressed her apprehension about having three kids in total. She made it clear that she’s really worried.
However, Senator John McCain’s daughter Meghan found comfort in confiding in Usha, who is mother to Ewan (age 7), Vivek (4 years old), and Mirabel (2 years old) with JD. Usha shared her own experiences as a mom of three children, offering valuable insights to Meghan.
Usha confirmed her affection for having three children. She strongly supports this choice, understanding that everyone has their own preferences regarding family size. What she particularly appreciates about having three kids is that they can form a little group or ‘pack’ together.
As the Second Lady noted, she’s already witnessed the benefits of her kids leaning on each other.
She clarified, “The eldest one will look after the others,” she said. “The youngest shows such a strong drive to emulate her elder siblings that she’s remarkably independent and has been so from an early age.
The 39-year-old confidently stated that the shift from two children to three was surprisingly effortless, even compared to other changes.
As she told Meghan, “I think you’re in for a surprise.”
On a personal note, this View alumna has openly discussed the genuine challenges of motherhood, emphasizing her commitment to being truthful about her experiences as a parent.
In 2024, she shared with Parents magazine that some things about early parenthood are subtly suggested as private or embarrassing matters. For her personally, it was unhealthy to witness women maintaining elaborate hairstyles and makeup while giving birth.
